Admission to semester-wise four year B.A./ B.Sc degree courses, under the University of Calcutta will be guided by admission regulations.
Admission will be conducted strictly on the basis of merit. The subject wise merit lists will be prepared based on INDEX FACTOR for all categories of students across all disciplines.
Seeking students can apply for the admission in their undergraduate and postgraduate courses. A student who have passed the class 12th examination from the All India Board/ Council in four recognized subjects including English in Eligible to seek admission to the 1st yeat of the BA./B.Sc course of studies.

The courses offered by Loreto College include B.A. (Honours & general ) in education, english, history, political science, psychology & geography; B.Sc ( honours & General) in geography & Economics: B.A. (General) in Bengali, Hindi, Economics, Journalism, Film Studies, Sociology, Human rights & Mathematics.
A candidate wishing to apply for B.A. Honours must choose her Honours must choose her honours subject from any one of the above and two elective subjects from Group I to VII given below.

After form submission candidates' applications and documents are verified by the designed E-Scrutiny centre through e-scrutiny mode.
Step 3: pay the application fee
After filling the application form with required documents candidates should have to pay an application fee.

Eligibility
- A student who has passed the class XII examination from the All India Boards/ Council in four recognized subjects including English is eligible to seek admission to the 1st year of the B.A./ B.Sc courses of studies.
- A student taking up a major course in a subject must have obtained:
- A minimum of 50% marks in the aggregate and 45% marks in the subject or related subject in their previous qualifying examination.
- 55% marks in the subject or related subject at the previous qualifying examination.
- 50% marks in the aggregate when the student has not studied the subject in their previous qualifying exam.
