Kerala University Distance Education, established in 1976 as a research and teaching department, has been one of the pioneering centers for distance education in the state. The university currently offers 25 undergraduate and postgraduate programs across various disciplines such as Literature, Commerce, Science, Humanities, Library and Information Science, and Information Technology. The medium of instruction is English for all courses, except a few language-based programs.
