About Central University of Punjab

The Central University of Punjab, Bathinda (CUPB) was established in 2009 by an Act of Parliament (No 25, of 2009). It is accredited grade “A” by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) and is among the top 100 institutions in the 'University Category' of The National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) Ranking 2019. The university offers mostly research-oriented master’s and doctoral degree programmes such as PhD, MPhil, MSc, MA, MPharm, MTech, LLM, M.Ed, and postgraduate diploma programmes and has 31 departments spread over 12 schools.

Central University of Punjab Courses and Fees 2025

Central University of Punjab courses are offered at UG, PG, Certificate and Doctorate levels among others. Additionally, all these courses are offered in the streams of Engineering, Medicine & Health Sciences and Business & Management Studies, etc. To get admission into these courses, candidates must meet the selection criteria. Additionally, they must furnish the minimum eligibility criteria set by the institution for its courses. Central University of Punjab Admission Process

Admissions at Central University of Punjab are based on scores obtained in the entrance examination. The university accepts Common University Entrance Test (CUET PG) scores for admission to all PG courses. However, admission to M.Pharm and M.Tech courses are also offered based on GPAT and GATE scores, respectively. The final selection is done through a counselling process conducted by the university. Candidates must note that admission to 50% of seats in the M.Tech program is filled through CCMT counselling and the remaining are filled through CUET PG.

The demand ratio for admission to PG seats at the Central University of Punjab is 1:187. For Diploma / Certificate programs, the demand ratio is 1:660. The demand ratio for admission to PhD seats is 1:7. Central University of Punjab admissions usually begin in May or June every year. The application process is completely online, eligible candidates can fill the application form through the official website @cup.edu.in

Central University of Punjab Application Process

Candidates seeking admission at Central University of Punjab must appear for the CUET examination. Such candidates are also required to register on the CUP admission portal for counselling. Applications for admission/counselling are accepted only in online mode. The application process to apply for admission/counselling at Central University of Punjab is as follows:

• Click on “Admission (PG & PhD)” on the homepage.
• Read all the instructions carefully and duly fill in all the necessary details.
• Register using your email id and create a password.
• Now login your email id and password.
• Select the course and fill in the required details.
• Upload scanned images of the signature and photograph.
• Pay an application fee of INR 800 (general category) and INR 400 (reserved category) for the application.
• Verify thoroughly and submit the application form along with the required documents before the last date.
