KU – Girls' Hostel Accommodation: Indus Hostel
The Indus Hostel is an air-cooled facility exclusively for girls, offering rooms with different occupancies ranging from single to seven-sharing. Students can choose between vegetarian and non-vegetarian meal plans. Annual fees vary depending on the type of room and occupancy. For instance, a 7-occupancy water cooler room with vegetarian food is priced at ₹78,000, while the AC version costs ₹96,000. Non-vegetarian options for the same occupancy range from ₹1,14,000 (cooler room) to ₹1,32,000 (AC room). Fees increase as occupancy decreases, with single occupancy water cooler rooms costing ₹1,30,000 (veg) and ₹1,66,000 (non-veg), and AC single rooms ranging from ₹2,50,000 to ₹2,86,000 depending on meal preference.
KU – Boys' Hostel Options
For male students, Kalinga University offers three main hostels: Brahmaputra, Pacific, and Everest, all air-cooled except Everest which does not offer AC rooms. The Brahmaputra Hostel has 5-occupancy rooms with vegetarian fees at ₹98,000 (water cooler) and ₹1,22,000 (AC), while non-vegetarian fees are ₹1,34,000 and ₹1,58,000 respectively. The Pacific Hostel features rooms with occupancies ranging from 2 to 7. For example, a 7-occupancy water cooler vegetarian room costs ₹78,000 annually, and the AC counterpart is ₹96,000. Prices rise for lower occupancies and non-vegetarian options, such as a 2-occupancy non-veg AC room at ₹2,12,000. The Everest Hostel provides 4-occupancy rooms only, with water cooler vegetarian fees at ₹90,000 and non-veg at ₹1,26,000. AC rooms are not available here.
KU – Hostel Facilities and Services
Each hostel room is furnished with essential items including a bed, table, chair, pillow, mattress, almirah, cooler, and a shoe rack. Students have access to Wi-Fi connectivity throughout the hostels. The mess provides breakfast, lunch, tea, and dinner as per the chosen meal plan (veg or non-veg).

KU – Safety, Security, and Policies
Kalinga University maintains a secure living environment for all hostel residents. Important notes regarding hostel policies include:
- Students opting for AC rooms must bear the maintenance costs for air conditioners. Once a room type is selected, downgrading to a lower category is not permitted.
- A one-time, refundable caution money of ₹5,000 is required from students enrolling in the 2025-26 session.
- AC rooms are assigned only if all occupants agree to use air conditioning.
- Students who cancel their hostel booking without utilizing any facilities will be charged a cancellation fee of ₹2,000.
