There is a two-year diploma in Dental Hygiene that can also be applied to 10+2 PCB students, with a first-year fee of around ₹1.6 Lakhs. The admission process is through NEET and state counselling. Step-by-Step Process

Eligibility

The first step is to determine if you are eligible for the selected course. BDS candidates must have passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, with an aggregate of 50% and a minimum of 40% for reserved candidates. They must be at least 17 years old on December 31 of the year of admission. For MDS, a recognised BDS is required along with completion of a one-year rotational internship. The Dental Hygienist diploma requires a 10+2 education with science subjects, including Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.

Entrance Examination

Admission to BDS is based on NEET-UG, and admission for MDS requires a valid NEET MDS. There is no other route to admission. All selected candidates will have qualified in the NEET entrance exam (a national exam).

Eligible candidates must apply online through the KDCRC. Candidates complete the application form with individual details, academic details, and exam details.

Counselling and Seat Assignment

Once candidates pass the NEET, they will need to go through a centralised process of counselling, where the Directorate of Medical Education and Training (DMET) will conduct the counselling on the UP NEET counselling portal. The candidate will then select KDCRC as their desired college and course. The availability will be based on NEET rank, choices and allotted seats.

Merit List and Confirmation of Admission

The merit list is released based on the NEET merit order when it is released and during the counselling process. The candidate will be shortlisted and called to appear before the college authority, where they will need to undergo document verification, pay admission fees, and confirm their documents for the allotted seat.

Final Admission

After confirming the documents and paying the prescribed fee, admission will be confirmed.
