The Marwari Shiksha Trust founded Marwari College in Ranchi in 1963 with the goal of providing higher education to the community's young, bright students, particularly those from underprivileged backgrounds and tribes. Due to the tireless and honest efforts of the late Ganga Prasad Budhia, this prestigious college in Jharkhand State was established. The late Ganga Prasad Budhia served as the first president of the Marwari College Governing Body. With Sri B.N. Chaubey serving as the first principal, the college began with 30 students enrolled in pre-university classes, 76 students enrolled in B.Com., and 64 students enrolled in B.A. classes during the evening session at Marwari School, located at Pustak Path, close to Shaheed Chowk, Ranchi. A separate wing was established specifically for girls in July 1967 due to the constantly growing student body. Currently offering undergraduate and post-graduate regular courses to students, Marwari College, Ranchi is an autonomous institution with NAAC Accreditation for Higher Studies and a previous 'Potential for Excellence' Award from the UGC. Additionally, the college offers job-oriented undergraduate and graduate courses.
