Meghnad Desai Academy of Economics, Mumbai serves unfulfilled needs of the industry-ready professionals. The academy develops young academics into leaders through its one year post graduate programme in Economics and Data science and finance.
The college has a placement cell and has a cross-platform and elective system between students from all the courses infused with diverse skills by MNCs and rising startups. Along with that, under the guidance of top senior professionals through the mentorship programme, the students of the academy have been able to pursue their dreams and contribute to a lot of success stories within the placement cell.
The college has a strong track record for placements and the alumni work in over more than 100 companies in various sectors. The academy is a hub for several leading recruiters in banking, finance, financial services and insurance policy companies.
The college sets up internships within the country to introduce students to the workings of the management sector. In addition, final-year students can attend a placement camp on the premises. Students were placed in a variety of fields, including banking, IT, marketing and finance. According to the MDAE NIRF report of the year 2023, the median package offered during placement sessions was Rs 5 LPA.
Pre placement Coaching
Prior to placement right from the start of the program, students receive coaching. These training sessions are meticulously planned and integrated into the schedule to guarantee success during the selection phase. When a business wants an intern to work for them full-time, permanently after graduation, they provide a pre-placement offer (PPO).
Selection Process
-Regular mock simulation processes are conducted by faculty members, industry professionals and alumni in order to assess and give feedback to students.
-There is a domain and industry-specific selection procedure that includes aptitude testing, group discussions, case study analysis, technical interviews and stress tests.
Mentoring
The institution offers students a proactive, well-established mentorship programme to assist and lead their entire growth. Students can freely discuss their ideas and get feedback on them. Highly educated and experienced mentors are provided to students so that they can learn and get into their dream companies.
The sectoral preference-
The college arranges domestic internships in order to familiarize students with the working world of the management industry. Additionally, a placement camp is held on the grounds for students in their final year.
