The National Institute of Technical Teachers’ Training and Research (NITTTR), Kolkata, established in 1965, is a centrally funded autonomous institution set up by the Department of Education, Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India. The institute was formed to give pre-service and in-service training to degree and diploma-level technical institution teachers and staff to improve the quality of technical education in the nation. For its outstanding contributions, the Government of India gave it national status in 2003. NITTTR Kolkata aims to be a leading resource institute for promoting excellence in technical, management, and vocational education and training systems.
