NCOPS was established in 2018 and located in Bangalore, Karnataka. It is a member of the Nitte (Deemed to be University), Mangaluru, and it has rapidly achieved popularity from its quality education for pharmaceutical sciences, modern infrastructure, and an excellent faculty support system.

The courses that NCOPS produces are mostly B.Pharm (Bachelor of Pharmacy) and M.Pharm (Master of Pharmacy) with Pharmaceutics and Pharmacology options. Additionally, NCOPS also has a lateral entry for B.Pharm for diploma holders in pharmacy. This allows students from many backgrounds to earn their pharmaceutical education.

Admission to B.Pharm will be based on merit and merit will be determined both on entrance examination scores and previously passed degree.

M.Pharm admissions at NCOPS require a B.Pharm degree with a minimum 55% marks. Students with a valid GPAT score will be preferred. Where students do not have GPAT scores, merit and performance in qualifying degree will be used to select students for M.Pharm admission.

In 2023, NCOPS recorded a placement rate of 90%. The average package was ₹3.2 LPA with the highest going up to ₹7.5 LPA. The college's placement cell liaises with various reputed pharma companies and has organized internship and placement opportunities for students.

Cipla, Sun Pharma, Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories, Lupin Pharmaceuticals and Glenmark Pharmaceuticals would be the top recruiters at NCOPS or similar organizations in India or abroad for research and development, quality assurance, production and pharmaceutical marketing professional roles.

Admissions for the B.Pharm program generally follow the merit-based method of taking 10+2 marks, but scores from NEET or NUCAT may be taken into consideration. For M.Pharm, NCOPS prefers the GPAT exam. If GPAT is not attempted, students will be selected based on academic merit and overall profile.
