Cancellation and Refund Policy
Cancellation and Refund Policy for SVKM's Narsee Monjee College of Commerce and Economics:
1. Mode of Refund of Fees
- Before the starting of the Academic Year:
- In the event of a withdrawal of admission before the start of the academic year, the institute would make a refund of tuition, term and laboratory fees, and library deposits if any. And this is not taken into account for refundable in regard to admission fee.
- FYJC Classes Reasoning:
- The academic year is said to commence from the eighth working day post SSC result declaration.
- After the academic year begins:
- In case of withdrawal of admission by a student after the beginning of an academic year, the institute retains in full all the admission, term and laboratory fees. Library deposits are refundable.
The tuition fee is retained only for month(s) from the date the academic year commences upto the date of withdrawal. Tuition fee for remaining months of the term would be refundable.
2. Refund of Fees as per University Circular (No. UG / 412 of 2008)
- Eligibility : Candidates who are undergoing the undergraduate courses in Government or Government-aided or unaided affiliated colleges and institutions.
- Refund Procedure Refund after cancellation of admission-If a written request for cancellation of admission has been submitted, the refund will be initiated within 30 days after the date of cancellation.
3. Fee Deduction on Admission Cancellation (as per Table-1)

Post Graduate Refund of Fees
Refund Guidelines:
- Cancellation and Return of Documents:
- The student may cancel admission and get a refund. The documents will be returned within 48 working hours or on the same day.
- Non-refundable Tuition Fees:
- All fees are paid in the amount for refund.
- All payments made to group insurance and University share fees, such as Vice-Chancellor fund, University sports and cultural activities fees, E-charge, Disaster Management Fund, Exam Fee, and Enrolment fee paid prior to the date of cancellation are non-refundable.
- The fees for Identity card, Library card, admission form, prospectus, enrolment, and any other course-related fee paid after the start of the term are non-refundable.
- Refundable Deposits:
- All refundable deposits, including Laboratory, Caution Money, and Library deposits, will be refunded in full at the time of withdrawal.
Ordinances Regarding Refund of Fees for M.Com. Class:
- Registration Fees: The post-graduate course registration fee is not refunded once paid.
- Tuition Fees:
- In case the student cancels admission but does not attend any lectures, seminars, or practical sessions, tuition fees will be returned to the student with a 25% deduction on account of administrative charges. Application for refund has to be submitted within 15 days after lectures have commenced in the academic year.
- If a student cancels admission from one course and joins another course at the same university, he or she will be refunded the tuition fee less 25 percent administrative charges. The application for this refund must be submitted within 15 days from the date of lectures having commenced in respect of the new course.
- Refund of College Deposit: The application for refund of the college deposit shall be made within one year from the date when the student ceases to be a student of the college. Otherwise, the college shall forfeit the deposit amount if no application has been made within the said time.
