 Noorul Islam Centre for Higher Education (NICHE), located in Kumarakovil, Kanyakumari District, Tamil Nadu, was established in 1989. It began as Noorul Islam College of Engineering and later became a university known as The Noorul Islam University. In 2008, it was recognized as a Deemed-to-be-University by the Ministry of Human Resource Development. Today, it is managed by the Noorul Islam Centre for Higher Education (NICHE) Society.

The institute offers various academic programs that are approved by necessary regulatory bodies, including the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and the University Grants Commission (UGC).
