Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology Sikkim is one of the top universities in India. The university offers various programs in the Engineering, Science, and Business Administration subjects. It offers different courses for UG and PG level programs.

There are a number of courses like BTech in CSE, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, AI & Data Science, Lateral BTech, BSc, BBA, BCA, B.P.E.S, etc., for undergraduates. It also conducts MCA, M.Tech, MBA, MSc, etc., for postgraduates. The university offers approximately 20+ courses each year in all programs.

University admissions are made on the basis of a minimum aggregate in a 10+2 relevant qualifying examination or graduation, along with valid entrance test marks. For UG courses, it prefers candidates with a minimum aggregate of 45% for general and 40% for reserved category candidates in a 10+2 equivalent qualification with relevant subjects, along with a valid JEE Mains/ SMET/ MET Score. For PG courses, it prefers candidates having graduation in corresponding streams and valid GATE/ SMIT Entrance Exam/ CAT/ MAT Score.

SMIT Sikkim Application Process 2025

Candidates need to submit their marks at the time of registration. It is a must for admissions. After submitting the same, candidates are required to participate in the counseling / admission process by filling the preference courses/program on the official website. Candidates will be admitted in the preferred programs based on their given preferences.

• Go to the website of the university at https://smu.edu.in/smit.html/, under the tab of applysmit, click the -˜Apply Now' Button.
• Begin to fill in the application form using personal and professional information in the given format followed by selection of the program. Candidates applying for multiple courses need to try an entrance test such as MET/ JEE Mains/ CAT/ SMIT Entrance Exam or genuine Entrance Exams for UG and PG etc programs admissions. Also, ensure to give all the mandatory details and documents accurately.
• After filling personal details, put your scores scored in related exams/boards exams as a process of the counseling procedure for admission to the University.Also, the given scores will be utilized to validate your eligibility for university admission.
• Depending on the marks submitted by the Board marks/ Entrance exams or appropriate qualification, Seats will be allotted by the University. The seat allotment procedure also takes into account the seat availability for the specific disciplines.
• The candidates selected or successfully admitted will be provided with a provisional offer letter. Also, This letter is a sign of successful admission, proceeding to further admission processes.
• Visit the physical counseling session as referred to in the offer letter which is highly necessary. This is an indication of your interest and suitability for the seat that has been allocated. 
• Pay the admission fee and other fee within the date stated in the provisional admission offer letter. Making payment is highly necessary to confirm your admission in the Institute.
• Final registration procedure at the University to formally become a part of the University. Classes will also begin according to the academic calendar issued by the University.
