Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology also referred to as SMIT Sikkim falls under the Support of Sikkim Manipal University (SMU) and was established in the year 1997. It is based in Rangpo, East Sikkim, Sikkim,The institute is NAAC A+ accredited and is situated at Tadong, Gangtok. SMIT is approved by the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE) and University Grants Commission (UGC). It is also NBA accredited.

SMIT Sikkim provides UG and PG degree programs in the streams of Computer Applications, Information Technology and Management. The flagship programs of SMIT Sikkim are a 4-year B.Tech program in 11 specialties and a 2-year M.Tech program. Other favorite courses of SMIT are BCA, MCA, BBA, MBA in 4 specialties and an M.Sc degree in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
