DMRD full form is Diploma in Medical Radio Diagnosis. It is a 2-year postgraduate medical course that can be pursued after MBBS. However, some private institutes may consider a BSc in Radiology for DMRD admission. DMRD is a specialized healthcare program that trains students to work with imaging technology to diagnose medical conditions.In this course, students learn techniques like X-ray, CT, MRI, and ultrasound to diagnose and treat conditions.

The Eligibility Criteria for DMRD course is that the candidate must have completed their BSc, MBBS, or any other equivalent degree with a minimum of 50% marks. Admission to the DMRD Course is based on the merit of the candidates. An average course fee varies between government and private institutes. Private colleges charge up to 2 to 5 Lakhs, whereas in government institutes, the course fees are as low as INR 20,000 to 50,000

DMRD Course Eligibility Criteria

DMRD eligibility depends on the university as most institutes prefer MBBS graduates while some private institutes consider BSc graduates with Radiology Specialization.

Minimum 50% marks in UG is mandatory to apply for DMRD. Many colleges prefer entrance exam scores as a selection criterion.

• Entrance exam qualification is compulsory in government institutions.

• The candidates should also be medically fit. They will have to pass a medical screening test.

DMRD Course Admission Process

Many private institutes consider UG merit but other universities require qualifying cut-off scores in entrance tests. A widely accepted entrance test for DMRD is NEET PG and AIIMS PG.

Merit-Based

The application process is completely online. Students have to choose a preferred institute and register themselves on the link provided on the website. 

• One has to fill the form and upload required documents such as mark-sheets, Id proofs, Caste/Migration/Transfer certificate, etc.

• The candidate has to pay the application fee online.
• The institute will verify the application and send a confirmation if shortlisted.

Entrance-Based

• Once the results of the required entrance exam are declared, students can apply to colleges through the Central/State counseling process.

• The official website of the Medical Council of India (MCI) will upload the link for the counseling where students have to register themselves.

• Candidates will receive allotment letters for the colleges they desire to attend and have qualified for.

• The admission will be confirmed only after the payment of the admission fees.

After completing a Diploma in Medical Radio Diagnosis, one can work in the healthcare sector, education sector, or opt for higher studies like MSc, M.Phil and PhD.

The various job profiles include X-Ray Technician, Medical Imaging Technologist, Demonstrator, Nuclear Medicine Technologist, Professor Associate, Radiologic Technologist, Radiologist, Radiologist Assistant, and Ultrasound Technician.

• Consultant Radiologist: To advise and guide on radiological procedures and diagnoses to the patients based on medical conditions. Their average salary ranges between INR 8 to 10 LPA.

• Senior Radiologist: Tomanage radiology departments, train junior staff, and perform complex radiological procedures. A senior radiologist can earn around INR 10 LPA as per the current pay scale policy.

• X-ray Technician: To perform X-ray imaging techniques and image acquisition. A technician in India can earn around INR 2 to 4 LPA.

• Educator: To teach radiology, radiography, and other imaging techniques to the DMRD, BSc, and MSc students.

The average salary of an educator depends on the institute, position, and location. In India, educators earn up to INR 4 to 5 LPA.
