Step 2: Register for CCMT 2026 Counselling:NITs participate in the Centralized Counselling for M.Tech. (CCMT), which is the common platform for admissions to NITs, IIEST Shibpur, and some IIITs/CFTIs based on GATE scores.

Candidates with a valid GATE score need to register on the CCMT portal.

Step 3. Choice Filling and Locking:

Candidates had to fill in their preferred M.Tech programs and institutes (including NIT Raipur's M.Tech Applied Geology) during the choice filling window, which concluded around June 2026.

Step 4: CCMT Seat Allotment:CCMT conducts multiple rounds of seat allotment based on GATE scores and the choices filled by candidate

Step 5: Seat Acceptance, Document Uploading, and Willingness:After each round of allotment, candidates who are allotted a seat must pay a Seat Acceptance Fee (SAF) and upload their required documents online.

They also need to specify their willingness (Freeze/Float/Slide) to either confirm their current allotted seat, float for better options in subsequent rounds, or slide within the same institute for a different program.

Step 5: Online Document Verification:The allotted institute (NIT Raipur in this case) will conduct online document verification.

Step 6: Payment of Partial Admission Fee to confirm seat at NIT, Raipur.
