Qualifying Degree Candidates should have completed or be in the final year of a relevant Bachelor's degree such as a B.E., B.Tech., or an equivalent qualification in the relevant field. The degree must be from an institution approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) or the University Grants Commission (UGC), and recognized by the Government of Andhra Pradesh.
Minimum Marks A minimum aggregate of 50% marks is required in the qualifying examination for general category candidates, while reserved category candidates (SC/ST) must secure at least 45%.
Age Limit There is no upper age limit specified for appearing in the AP PGECET 2025. However, candidates must be at least 21 years old at the time of admission.

AP PGECET 2025 Eligibility Criteria for Admission to ME / MTech / MPharm Courses

Candidates applying for the AP PGECET 2025 exam must meet the eligibility criteria set by the conducting authorities. The eligibility requirements for admission to M.E., M.Tech., and M.Pharm. courses are outlined below:

  • GATE/GPAT Qualification: Candidates who have valid GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) or GPAT (Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test) scores are eligible for direct admission and are exempted from appearing in the AP PGECET 2025. Such candidates will be given preference during the admission process.
  • Local/Non-Local Status: Candidates must satisfy the local/non-local status requirements as per the Andhra Pradesh Educational Institutions regulations. 
  • Reservation Policy: Admission to 85% of the seats in each course shall be reserved for the local candidates and the remaining 15% of the seats shall be un-reserved seats as specified in the Andhra Pradesh Educational Institutions (Regulations and Admissions) Order, 1974 as subsequently amended.
  • Final Year Students: Candidates appearing for the final year of their qualifying examination are also eligible to apply, provided they have completed all prescribed courses and passed all subjects required for the award of the degree by the concerned university by the time of counselling.
