Both A and R are true and R is the correct explanation of A. Explanation: Evaporating moisture (drying) is a highly effective preservation method because all living cells, including microorganisms like bacteria and mold, strictly require water to survive and multiply. By removing water, you eliminate the moisture essential for their metabolic processes, thereby stopping their growth and preventing food spoilage.
