Proprietary Software is a software for which exclusive rights of modification in the source code remain with the owner. Explanation: Proprietary software is closed; its source code is not made available for public modification, and the owner retains exclusive rights to modify and control the code. Freeware may be free to use or distribute, but typically does not allow modification because the source code isn’t provided; open-source/free (FLOSS/OSS) explicitly allows access to and modification of source code.
