Panchsheel Explanation: The Panchsheel principles became the guiding framework for the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM). These principles were first articulated in a treaty between India and China in 1954 and emphasise mutual respect for sovereignty, non-interference, equality, peaceful coexistence, and mutual benefit. NAM leaders adopted these ideals to maintain neutrality during the Cold War, promoting peace and cooperation among nations while avoiding alignment with either the Western or Eastern blocs.
