Dr Mahabub-ul-Haq Explanation: The concept of Human Development was introduced by Pakistani economist Dr. Mahbub-ul-Haq in 1990. He defined development as a process that expands people’s choices and improves their living standards, shifting the focus away from economic growth alone. While Prof. Amartya Sen collaborated closely with him to expand this idea through the capability approach, the initial concept was pioneered by Dr. Haq.
