Alliance University Bangalore has announced a strategic partnership with QpiAI to set up the AU QUASAR (Alliance University Quantum AI School for Advanced Research) Experience Center at its upcoming Electronic City campus in Bengaluru. The center will provide access to India’s first commercially available 8-qubit superconducting quantum computing system.
The initiative brings together Alliance University and QpiAI to create an academic–industry platform focused on quantum computing education, research, and real-world use. The center will be located in Bengaluru’s technology corridor and is expected to support collaboration with global technology companies, public sector organizations, and India’s startup ecosystem. The project also aligns with the goals of the National Quantum Mission.
Quantum Infrastructure at AU QUASAR
At the AU QUASAR facility, QpiAI will deploy its QVidya 8-qubit superconducting quantum system along with the QpiAI Explorer platform. This will allow students, researchers, enterprises, and government users to work directly on a real quantum computing system.
Leadership Perspective
According to Mr. Abhay G Chebbi, Pro-Chancellor of Alliance University, AU QUASAR is designed to bring academics and industry together in a practical way. The center will combine academic programs, research activities, industry engagement, and Quantum Computing as a Service (QCaaS) within one facility. The aim is to support skill development in quantum technologies and enable applied research and commercial outcomes.
Dr. Nagendra Nagaraja, Founder and CEO of QpiAI, said the partnership focuses on expanding access to quantum computing in India. By combining QpiAI’s indigenous quantum systems with Alliance University’s academic ecosystem, the center is intended to support wider adoption of quantum technologies across research and industry.
Key Offerings at AU QUASAR
The AU QUASAR Experience Center will offer:
- Hands-on access to quantum computing systems for students, researchers, enterprises, and government bodies
- Undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs in Quantum Computing, AI, and related deep-tech areas
- Joint research projects and proof-of-concept development
- QCaaS access for commercial and strategic users
By bringing infrastructure, curriculum, research, and industry access together, AU QUASAR aims to connect education, research, and commercialization within a single ecosystem. The center is expected to become operational in the coming months and may serve as a model for similar quantum experience centers in other parts of India.
