CAG-ICSSR Colloquium in Telangana

The Institute of Public Enterprise (IPE), Hyderabad, announced the CAG–ICSSR Colloquium Series: Telangana Chapter. The event is being organized by the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR), Telangana Chapter, in collaboration with the Office of the Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG).

 

The colloquium will be held on 25 February 2026 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Centenary Seminar Hall, Prof. G. Ram Reddy Centre for Distance Education, Osmania University, Hyderabad.

 

This academic event will focus on the “State of the Finances of Telangana” and the “Health Sector of Telangana.” The main aim of the program is to create a platform where academicians, policymakers, audit officials, researchers, and students can discuss public financial management, fiscal transparency, and governance in the health sector.

 

The distinguished speakers for the CAG–ICSSR Colloquium include:

  • Dr. Bibhu Prasad Nayak: Professor, School of Public Policy and Governance, Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Hyderabad
  • Dr. V. M. Sarma Jana: Former Professor, School of Economics, University of Hyderabad
  • Prof. (Retd.) T. Tirupati Rao: Council Member, Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR), New Delhi; Former Vice-Chancellor, Osmania University
  • Smt. P. Madhavi, IA&AS: Principal Accountant General (Audit), Telangana
  • Dr. Sanjay Rao Kamineni, IA&AS – Senior Deputy Accountant General (Audit Management Group), AMG II

They will discuss Telangana’s revenue and expenditure trends, debt management, investment priorities, and the performance of the health sector. The discussions will also highlight how audit findings can help improve policymaking and strengthen accountability in governance. The session will include interactive question-and-answer rounds, allowing students and researchers to engage directly with experts.

 

The Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR) aims to promote high-quality research and policy dialogue through such events. The colloquium is expected to contribute to meaningful academic discussions and support evidence-based decision-making for the development of Telangana.
