Things Students Must Carry

Before leaving for the exam, students should make sure they have the essential items with them. Keep them ready the night before, so candidates should not rush in the morning. They will need:

  • Printed CAT 2025 Admit Card
  • Valid photo ID proof such as Aadhaar, PAN, Passport, Voter ID, or Driving Licence
  • Passport-size photograph (preferably the same as the one uploaded during registration)
  • Transparent water bottle
  • Any medical documents or medicines if you have a health condition
  • PwD certificate if you are a PwD candidate

Note: These items are necessary for verification and smooth entry into the centre.

Items That Are Not Allowed

To avoid problems at the entrance, students should make sure they don’t carry any restricted items. These include:

  • Mobile phones or smartwatches
  • Calculators or electronic devices
  • Bags, wallets, or pouches
  • Books, notes, or printed sheets
  • Food items (unless medically required)

The exam centre will provide pens and rough sheets, so there’s no need to bring stationery.

Students At the Exam Centre

Students must reach their exam centre early, so they have enough time for security checks. Follow the instructions given by the staff and carry only the items allowed. Wear simple, comfortable clothes and avoid accessories or jewellery since many centres follow strict rules.

  • Sit only at the computer allotted to you
  • Listen carefully to the invigilator’s instructions
  • Use the rough sheets provided
  • Students must keep their focus on their screen and avoid unnecessary movements
  • Do not communicate with other candidates

Staying calm and attentive will help candidates perform better.

Students During the Exam

Once the exam begins, manage your time wisely.

  • Don’t spend too much time on one difficult question
  • Move to easier or familiar ones first
  • Read all instructions properly
  • Avoid random guessing because negative marking applies
  • Keep checking the on-screen timer

Final Thoughts

The CAT exam may feel intense, but following the right guidelines and staying organised can make students’ experience much smoother. Trust the preparation, stay calm, and walk into the exam with a clear mind.
