Gian Jyoti Institute of Management and Technology (GJIMT) successfully conducted a Five-Day Faculty Development Programme (FDP) titled “From Tradition to Innovation: Pedagogical Tools for Integrating Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS)” from 24 to 28 November 2025. The programme was organized under the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), MoE’s Innovation Cell, Government of India, along with the institute’s Skill Development Cell. The FDP was held in online mode and saw the active participation of 63 faculty members from various academic disciplines.
The FDP aimed to help faculty members understand the basic principles of Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS) and explore ways to integrate them into teaching and learning in line with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. The sessions focused on practical teaching methods, curriculum design, learning-by-doing techniques and the use of ICT tools to effectively include IKS across different fields of study.
The programme featured expert sessions by experienced academicians and policy experts, including Prof. V. Ramanathan (IIT–BHU, Varanasi), Dr Kalapini H. Agasti (Kavikulaguru Kalidas Sanskrit University, Ramtek), Prof. (Dr) Swati Bhatia (Asian Business School, Noida), Dr Priti Jagwani (University of Delhi), Dr Subrahmanya Kumar K. (TDU, Bengaluru), and Ms Ojasvi Goyal (Policy Advisor, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India). These sessions helped participants understand the academic value and practical application of IKS in modern education. The FDP training at Gian Jyoti Institute of Management and Technology was concluded successfully with a vote of thanks and distribution of certificates.
