The Institute of Public Enterprise (IPE), Hyderabad is organizing a five-day Capacity Building Programme on Startups and Hortipreneurship for postgraduate students of Sri Konda Laxman Telangana State Horticultural University (SKLTHU). The programme is being held from 20 January 2026 to 24 January 2026 at the IPE campus in Shamirpet, Hyderabad.
The programme was inaugurated by Dr. D. Raji Reddy, Vice-Chancellor of SKLTHU. Addressing the students, he encouraged horticulture students to contribute to the nation’s development by becoming entrepreneurs. He emphasized that by developing modern technologies suited to soil, water, and climatic conditions, students can play an important role in achieving the Telangana Government’s vision for growth.
Prof. S. Sreenivasa Murthy, Director of IPE Hyderabad, highlighted the vast entrepreneurial potential in the horticulture sector. He stated that horticulture offers significant opportunities for startups, especially considering India’s strong dependence on agriculture. He also urged students to make effective use of government funds and schemes available for the development of the horticulture sector.
Several dignitaries were present at the inaugural, including Dr. A. Bhagwan (Registrar & Comptroller of SKLTHU), Prof. Veeranjaneyulu (Consultant), Prof. A. Sridhar Raj, Prof. M. L. N. Rao and Dr. P. Kalyani (from IPE). The programme is coordinated by Prof. S. Sreenivasa Murthy and Prof. A. Sridhar Raj. A total of 30 M.Sc. students from SKLTHU are participating in the programme, which aims to build entrepreneurial skills and promote innovation in the horticulture sector.
