Karnavati University National Level Moot Court Competition 2026

Unitedworld School of Law (UWSL), a constituent of Karnavati University, organized the National Level Moot Court Competition 2026, in association with the Gujarat Council on Science and Technology. The competition was held from 26 February to 28 February 2026 at the Gandhinagar campus. It brought together talented law students from across India for three days of intense courtroom competition and academic exchange. A total of 26 teams from reputed law schools across the country participated in the competition.

Semi-Finals and Final Round

The final day began with the semi-final rounds on 28 February 2026. The participating teams displayed strong research skills, clear arguments, and impressive courtroom manners. After closely fought rounds, two teams advanced to the final round.

 

The final round was judged by an eminent panel that included Hon’ble Mr. Justice AJ Desai (Retd.), Former Chief Justice of the Kerala High Court, among other dignataries.

 

Competition Focus

The moot problem focused on the growing relationship between Artificial Intelligence and Intellectual Property Rights. It raised important and current legal questions about how existing IP laws apply to new technologies. The participants were required to examine gaps in the law and suggest practical solutions. The arguments reflected a deep understanding of emerging legal issues and policy concerns.

 

Valedictory Ceremony

The Valedictory Ceremony was graced by Justice Sandeep Mehta, Judge of the Supreme Court of India, and Justice Sameer Jain, Judge of the Rajasthan High Court. The event was also attended by senior legal professionals, academic leaders, and representatives from the Gujarat Council on Science and Technology and Karnavati University, who added significance to the occasion.

 

Winners and Awards

The Winners of the competition were D.E.S's Shri Navalmal Firodia Law College (DES SNFLC). The Runner-Up title was secured by Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, while the Second Runner-Up position was awarded to the Institute of Law, Nirma University.

 

The Best Speaker award was given to Ms. Katyayini from the Institute of Law, Nirma University, Ahmedabad. The Second Best Speaker award was presented to Ms. Suchi Tyagi from Dharmashastra National Law University, Jabalpur. The Best Memorial award was won by the Institute of Law, Nirma University, Ahmedabad, and the Second Best Memorial award was secured by GLS University.

 

The competition ended on a successful note. It provided students with a meaningful platform to test their advocacy skills and engage with modern legal challenges.
