Bhubaneswar, July 5: Renowned educationist and philanthropist Dr. Achyuta Samanta founder of KIIT, KIMS, and KISS has added another major international accolade to his name. He was recently honored with the AAPI Award for Transformational Social Work and Indo-US Partnership by the American Association of Physicians of Indian Origin (AAPI).

 

The prestigious recognition took place during AAPICON 2026, the association’s 44th annual convention, held from July 2 to July 5 in Tampa, Florida.

Global Recognition for Transformational Humanitarian Work

The award honors Dr. Samanta’s lifelong dedication to uplifting marginalized communities through free education, comprehensive healthcare, and visionary philanthropy. AAPI also recognized his instrumental support during the Global Health Summit 2026 and his ongoing efforts to bridge the gap between Indian and American healthcare ecosystems.

 

Dr. Amit Chakrabarty, President of AAPI, presented the award to Dr. Samanta in front of an esteemed gathering of over 3,000 top medical professionals and physicians of Indian descent.

A Historic Keynote on US Independence Day

Coinciding with United States Independence Day on July 4, Dr. Samanta took the stage as the Guest of Honour and keynote speaker for a special convention session.

 

In a highly anticipated address, he praised AAPI members for their massive contributions to the American healthcare system and community service. He then issued a heartfelt call to action, urging the diaspora to reconnect with their roots to advance global health equality.
