Admission: The teachers are from IIT and top colleges, but the college lacks creativity like many others in India. The course structure was unique, which I found really helpful. They didn't ignore engineering aspects and included them in the curriculum. In Sikkim, there are various processing plants for noodles, milk, and medicine. We often go on industrial visits to these plants. We also get to visit different colleges in the country during tours. In the final year, we can do industrial training. In our batch, we did our dissertation at CFTRI in Mysuru.
Placement: Our B.Tech (FT) program didn't have any placements yet. We were in the 2nd batch with only 7 students. The college is working hard to bring in companies for us. Even though we haven't had placements, our grads have done great in exams like GATE JRF and CAT. Some even got into top institutes in India. Hopefully, all of us will get placed soon.
Campus: The college has a cool pilot plant where we learn how to process crops like ginger and tomatoes. It feels like we're in a real industry! The classrooms are big and some have projectors. The hostels have Wi-Fi, Gym, and sports like table tennis and badminton. I stayed in a room with two other people. The food in the canteen could be better, though. The labs are awesome and the library has lots of books. The medical team is great - there's a doctor, three nurses, and an emergency van. Overall, the campus is pretty nice.
