The Dehradun Institute of Technology and Management (ITM) was founded in 2002 and became the first institution in Uttarakhand to offer IT education. ITM was established under the aegis of Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal (Central University), Srinagar Garhwal and is recognised by the All Indian Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi. The institute created its IT courses and curriculum in close consultation with the Uttarakhand education ministry and HNB Garhwal Central University.
DITM has expanded its academic portfolio over the years by including other undergraduate and postgraduate courses. The institute offers B.Sc. (IT), BCA, BBA, MSc IT, B.Sc Animation, B.Com and Library Sciences at undergraduate and postgraduate levels affiliated with HNB Garhwal (Central University). DITM provide a massive range of courses that include IT and Management, Mass Communication, Hospitality, and Fine Arts. The primary courses are BBA, BCA, B.Sc (IT), B.Sc (Computer Science), MSc IT, B.Com (Hons), B.Com (NEP), B.Sc Animation, MSc Animation, BFA, B.Lib, M.Lib, BHM, DHM and many streams of BA. DITM admissions are mainly based on merit and a first-come, first-served basis. The interested candidates shall fill out a detailed application form with a clear specification of the programme of their choice. In case of undergraduate courses such as BBA, BCA, B.Sc IT and BA streams, the candidates should have cleared 10+2 with an aggregate of 45-50%, according to the course.
However, for postgraduate courses such as MSc IT, MSc Animation, and M.Lib, the candidates should have relevant bachelor's degrees.
