GITAM Institute of Technology, Visakhapatnam, offers a comprehensive range of scholarships for the academic year 2025–26 to support deserving students across its Visakhapatnam, Hyderabad, and Bengaluru campuses. These scholarships are designed to recognise academic excellence, athletic achievements, financial need, and institutional loyalty. The policy covers undergraduate and postgraduate programs, excluding Kautilya School of Public Policy, MBBS, Dental, CDL, and Ph.D. courses. Through multiple categories such as Merit-Based, Need-Based, Sports, Employee, and Loyalty Scholarships, GITAM ensures that talented and deserving students receive the financial assistance they need to pursue higher education.

Benefits / Slabs

Merit Scholarships

Awarded based on performance in entrance exams such as GAT, GBAT, JEE Main, EAPCET, CUET, SAT, CAT, MAT, NMAT, CMAT. Personal interview required for 60% or higher slab.

Tuition Fee Waiver: 100%, 75%, 60%, 40%, 25%, 15%

Need-Based Scholarships

For students already receiving a merit scholarship (15%–75%) and meeting income criteria. Tier A: Income < ₹12 lakh/year (program fee ≥ ₹2 lakh) Tier B: Income < ₹8 lakh/year (program fee < ₹2 lakh)

Upgrades: 75%→100%, 60%→75%, 40%→60%, 25%→40%, 15%→25%

Hostel Scholarships

Available for merit scholarship holders; covers non-AC accommodation and food.

100% tuition → 100% hostel 75% tuition → 75% hostel Others (60%-15%) → 20% hostel

Employee Children Scholarships

For children of full-time GITAM employees with ≥1 year of permanent service.

Up to 60% tuition (if not receiving 75% or 100% merit). Total cap 75%.

Loyalty Scholarships

10% tuition scholarship for alumni, children of alumni, siblings of students, spouses or children of current/retired GITAM employees.

10% tuition fee waiver

Sports Scholarships

For athletes with achievements in zonal, state, national, or international events (past 3 years).

Tuition Fee: 15%, 25%, 40%, 60%, 75%, 100% Hostel Fee: 50% or 100%

Combined Scholarship Cap

Maximum total scholarship is capped at 75%, except for 100% merit or sports scholarships.

Priority Order: Merit/Need-Based → Employee → Loyalty → Sports

Program Transfers (Liberal Education)

Applies to transfers among BBA, B.Com, and B.Sc. (Liberal Education) programs.

Retain slab if CGPA ≥ 8.0; downgraded if < 8.0
