Admission: The teachers are awesome. Our college's curriculum is top-notch, especially in this area near Calcutta. Academics are the main priority here, but there aren't many extracurricular activities. Each semester, we tackle three exams: two midterms and a few others. Some tests are quite long, lasting around 40 to 45 minutes with about 20 papers to complete.
Placement: IM is an awesome college that's really good with getting students jobs. Around 70-80% of us find jobs every year, which is pretty cool. The highest salary someone got was 87 LPA, while the lowest was around 3 LPA. Usually, we get offers between 5 to 6 LPA, which is decent. Companies like ITC, Oracle, and Amazon come for placements, which is nice.
Campus: The college campus at the Institute of Engineering and Management isn't great because it's in Sector 5, a busy area with no space for a big campus. We only have a few buildings for classes and some small grounds for sports like basketball and volleyball. The hostel isn't on campus either; it's in different buildings a bit far from college. The food in the hostel isn't that good either.

Admission: The teachers here are amazing, some are even from IIT. The courses are good and prepare us well for the industry. Exams are not too hard, around 90% of students pass. They mostly cover what we learn in class.
Placement: Most students get jobs here, around 95%. Starting pay is 3.5 LPA, with the highest being 17 LPA from a startup. The average is 7.5 LPA. Companies like Oracle, TCS, Wipro, Cognizant, and Infosys hire a lot. I got offered a Junior Software Developer role at Oracle, which is pretty cool.
Campus: The infrastructure here isn't great. The Wi-Fi works well, but the labs don't have AC. The library is okay, and all they have is a basketball court on campus. The canteen's fine. The hostels are pretty bad, so I'd suggest finding a PG instead.

Admission: I wanted to study Engineering and Management, so I chose IEM Kolkata. They offer programs in both engineering and management that follow MAKAUT rules. The course content is really practical and fits the subjects well. Plus, everyone passes with a 100% success rate.
Placement: There are about 200 students in my program. The best salary offered is 18 LPA, while the lowest is 3.6 LPA. Big companies like Google, Amazon, TCS, Cognizant, and Wipro hire from our course. Almost all students get internships, mainly in TCS, Cognizant, and Wipro. The job options in my field are both in IT and out in the field, which I find exciting.
Campus: The hostels at IEM Kolkata are great! They have separate ones for guys and girls right on campus. You get 24/7 security, a clean mess, free Wi-Fi, and access to sports areas. It's cool that they have twin-sharing rooms. The boys' hostel can fit over 200 students and the girls' one can fit around 150. And the best part is that they're right on campus!

Admission: The teachers were mostly helpful in passing the exams, but the teaching wasn't great. I often had to watch YouTube lectures after class. The course structure was good, especially adding CS subjects to the ECE curriculum. It really helped with placements. The semester exams weren't too hard, even if you crammed just two days before. Easy to pass!
Placement: IEM's placement record is solid. Over 95% of students got jobs, with big companies like TCS, Accenture, IBM, PwC, and Capgemini hiring the most. Oracle offered the highest salary at 22 LPA. Even some startups like Tismo Ltd, Jman, and Keyence hired students from IEM.
Campus: The Wi-Fi on campus is okay, but the issue is you can only connect to one network at a time. So, if you start on the first floor and move to the third floor, you can't switch networks. The classrooms and labs are just average, nothing special. The library is open all the time, but during college hours, it's best not to be there unless you want to look like you're skipping class.

Admission: The teachers here are pretty cool. Some are nice and some are tough. But they all help you out when you need it. Most of them have high degrees and know their stuff. Throughout the semester, we have 3 exams - 2 mid-terms and 1 final. They can be tough, but sometimes they're not so bad. The courses match up well with what we're learning.
Placement: Once you hit the 6th semester, you can start looking at campus placements. The placement rate here is better than other private colleges around. This year, around 89% of students got placed, which is awesome. Big companies like TCS, Wipro, and IBM come to hire during placements. Lots of companies hire in bulk, so there are plenty of chances to land a job.
Campus: The labs at college are really good and kept up well. The campus is small and close to a busy area, which isn't the best. The hostel costs Rs. 1,05,000 a year and includes food and housing. Food is okay and they have a set meal schedule. You can sign up for the hostel when you apply. It's a 10-minute walk from the college, not on campus.

Admission: The teachers at my college are awesome! They know their stuff, are super helpful, and really smart. Each of them teaches in a different way, which helps us learn better. The courses they offer are spot on. They cover a lot of important topics that will help us in the real world. The exams are tough, though. We gotta stay on top of our studies all semester to ace the final exam. Gotta aim for a CGPA above 6 to pass.
Placement: The college has awesome placement opportunities. Big companies such as TCS, Infosys, and others visit for hiring. The average salary is about 6 LPA. To be eligible for placements, we need to keep our CGPA above 7. They select students based on skills and achievements during college.
Campus: The facilities in my department are really good. Wi-Fi is available on every floor, and each course has its own lab. The library has all the books we need. The hostel facilities are okay. They serve food three times a day plus snacks, but the quality can be hit or miss. There's also medical help available for emergencies.

Admission: The teachers here are really great. They work hard to teach us and share real-life examples. The quality of teaching is top-notch. We get access to expensive courses like LinkedIn learning, Coursera, and Swayam for free. They prepare us well for the future, like a company would. If we study the notes they give us, the semester exams are pretty manageable. It's easy to score well. The pass rate is around 50%.
Placement: I heard that everyone with average grades and skills gets job placements here. It's a relief not to stress about that. The highest salary is 75 LPA, while the lowest is around 2 - 4 LPA. The average is 12 LPA. Companies like Infosys, TCS, Wipro, Decathlon, Amazon, and more visit every semester, offering internships. First-year students usually don't take them. It's a good start for beginners with roles like clerks or report makers.
Campus: The campus is awesome with AC in every room and Wi-Fi available everywhere. The library stays open late for studying. There's a cafeteria that's open during class hours. The food is okay, but not amazing. Our course even has some extra activities to do.

Admission: The teachers here are not very good. They seem like they don't know what they're talking about. If you ask them a question, they just say you're not paying attention. Exams are super stressful because they don't cover what the teachers taught. It's frustrating.
Placement: Most students get jobs after finishing this course. The pay is around 5 LPA on average. There are lots of companies that give internships. TCS, Wipro, and Cognizant are some of the companies that hire students. The placement services are really good overall. It's a solid choice.
Campus: The facilities at our college are pretty basic. The rooms feel more like school classrooms than college ones. Teachers get free Wi-Fi, but students can't use it. The labs aren't air-conditioned, and the fans don't work well. There's a sports room, but it's only open for a short time and not all sports are allowed. Overall, the facilities are not great.

Admission: I found the semester exams pretty easy. If you study for about a week, you can easily score above 90%. The teachers aren't the best. Their lectures can be hard to follow sometimes. I rely a lot on YouTube for better explanations. But if you need help, the teachers are there for you. Just know that the curriculum won't fully prepare you for the industry.
Placement: Around 60% of us went for placements from our batch of about 206 students. Most of us got job offers from big companies. Some even got multiple offers if they did well. I was lucky to land a 2-month internship at SAP Labs India through our college. During placements, companies like Accenture, Limelight Tree, Deloitte, Federal Bank, and more visited our college. I was one of the 4 students who got internships. The roles offered were support engineers and associates. It was a great opportunity!
Campus: The labs are in good shape and kept clean. The food in the hostel is good too. Wi-Fi is available everywhere on campus and in the hostels. There's a basketball court on campus, and also carrom and table tennis for indoor games. The canteen has decently priced food. But the hostel and college bus fees are really expensive.
