Admission: The teachers here are great, which is a plus. But the course material feels outdated. It doesn't match what's needed in the real world. Seems like it's more about memorizing facts than understanding. The exams have different passing requirements for internal and external tests. The external exams are quite challenging, but the grading is more forgiving.
Placement: I was really happy with the job opportunities on campus. Companies like Fleet Management, Pacific Basin, MSC, and more came for placements. Everyone in my batch got placed except for me. There are lots of options for female cadets, but you can't have any back papers.
Campus: The food was good at first, but it went downhill after the pandemic hit. The buildings are always being worked on. They used to give us breakfast, lunch, snacks, and dinner 4 times a day, but now it's only 3 times. We had both meat and veggie choices. We really liked the special Diwali dinner they used to have.

Admission: The teachers are really smart - they have Ph.Ds and some even went to IIT. They know a lot and are super helpful. The course is perfect for people working in a ship's engine room. The semester exams are not too hard, just right.
Placement: Most students get jobs in marine engineering after graduation. The salary is around 800,000 on average. The top companies to work for are BSM, Scorpio, NYK, and OSM. This course focuses on working in a ship's engine room. They give us all the training we need on campus to understand everything better.
Campus: The classrooms are nice, and they have AC. The Learning Resource Center, which is the library, has lots of books and a comfy place to study. They also have sports facilities like an indoor badminton court, squash court, basketball court, swimming pool, and a football field on campus. Everything is air-conditioned and in good shape.

Admission: The faculty here are super helpful and really know their stuff. A bunch of them used to be in the Navy or work on ships. They tell us stories from their time at sea, which helps us understand things better. Oh, and the semester exams are run by IMU.
Placement: Almost everyone in my batch got a job this year, which is awesome! Some students who didn't get placed had backlogs to clear. To land a job at TMI, you just need to make sure you've cleared all your backlogs. There are plenty of companies that come for placements like BP, Wallem, Fleet, Synergy, Carnival Cruise, WSM, and more.
Campus: The Wi-Fi in class and the library is great, never runs out. In the hostel, we use Ethernet from 5 PM to 11 PM on weekdays and 1 PM to 11 PM on weekends. The food is really good, and even the teachers eat in the hostel mess. There are lots of sports options here like track, basketball, badminton, swimming, and even cricket. Lots to do here!

Admission: The teachers at TMI are really experienced and have sailed the seas. They share their sea knowledge with us. We have tests often to see how we're doing. If we're not doing well, they give us extra classes to help us out.
Placement: I'm in my final year with about 220 of us, and only around 40 still need placement. That's because they haven't cleared their backlogs yet. But if you're all caught up, you're guaranteed a spot in the college placement. Companies like Wallem, BP, Stena Gas, and more come for interviews. It's pretty awesome!
Campus: I love how there's medical help all the time at TMI. The hostel life is amazing because you get to meet students from everywhere. The food at the hostel mess is the best; even the teachers eat there. The classrooms are kept nice, and the teachers are really helpful and give us good advice.

Admission: The teachers at this college are great. They used to work in the Navy and now they're teaching us. One of them has 15+ years of experience in shipping, which really helps us learn a lot. Some teachers have PhDs but not in shipping, so they're learning along with us to teach us better. We focus a lot on studying ship engines in our course. It's pretty cool.
Placement: I want to share my experience about college. They promise 100% placements, and it's true! Every graduate here gets a job with good pay. I got placed in my 6th semester. Out of our batch of 40, 20 are already placed. There are more companies lined up to hire us. Next month, Feet Management Ltd. is coming. On average, we get offers of $600 without any tax deductions. It's great to know I have a job waiting for me when I graduate.
Campus: The classrooms have good ventilation and smart boards. There are labs for practicals and even a workshop. The canteen serves good food, and the mess food is okay for everyday. Sometimes we get special food for events, which is nice.

Admission: The exams at Tolani Maritime Institute are tough but fair. They happen every six months, and Indian Maritime University runs them. They take cheating seriously, so be careful. If you're caught, you might have to repeat a year. Just study hard and you'll be fine!
Placement: The college has great placement opportunities with top companies. All the teachers are really supportive. It's the only college in India where you can get such good placements in merchant navy from well-known international companies. They offer three different courses.
Campus: I ended up getting placed in a great company with help from all the teachers. This college is the best for merchant navy placements, especially with top international companies. I took three courses here, and it was totally worth it!

Admission: The teachers at this college are super smart and really serious about their jobs. That's why the fees are a bit high compared to other places. But it's worth it because you get taught by some top-notch professors. The passing rate is around 50%, and that includes the internal exams.
Placement: I was really impressed by how well the college helped students get jobs. Almost everyone in our course found a job before finishing. The best companies in the merchant navy field come here to hire students, so you know you're getting top-notch opportunities. The college only lets the best companies recruit students, which is awesome.
Campus: There are 3 hostels at Tolani College, and the girls' wing is attached to H2. The hostels are awesome and have a really clean mess. The only downside is the washrooms, but overall, Tolani's hostel services are top-notch.

Admission: The teachers at this college really know their stuff. They teach well and the course content is good too. It would be better if they focused more on the practical side of things. Exams are based on what's taught in class, so if you study, you can get good grades. That's why a lot of students end up with good placements. The passing rate is 35%, so it's doable if you put in the effort.
Placement: Most final year students got jobs, around 90% of them. The pay varies depending on the company, but for engine cadets, it's usually between 500-600 dollars per month. Some of the top companies that hire students are Feet Management, Pacific Basis, OSM Home, MMSI, BW Shipping, MSI, and M.Sc Anglo Eastern. For internships, students have to find their own placements in workshops. But the college can help with onboard training for 6 months after a course.
Campus: The Wi-Fi here is okay, but it doesn't reach everywhere. The labs are closed for maintenance. Classrooms have cool stuff like smart projectors and whiteboards. Most rooms don't have AC though. The library is nice and has AC. Food in the mess is alright, but not super tasty. There's a canteen too. Sports facilities are good. We're dealing with water shortages, but they might fix it soon. The hostels for pre-sea cadets are getting renovated. They'll move in once it's done. The hostels have shared bathrooms on each floor. Air quality isn't great because of ships refueling nearby. And hey, no ragging here, which is awesome.

Admission: The way they check exams here is terrible. They do mass checking every year and it feels like they're purposely failing students to make money. The course requires a ton of effort, but it doesn't seem fair. The syllabus is huge and really hard to get through. It's not worth it, honestly.
Placement: I really like how our college helps us find good jobs. They bring in top companies for placements. We get lots of chances to learn about our field. By the time we graduate, almost everyone has a job. And we can start looking for jobs from the first year itself. All we need to do is study hard and pass our exams. It's pretty cool!
Campus: The library has a nice selection of books. Each room in the hostel has LAN connections instead of Wi-Fi, which is pretty handy. There are some sports on campus, but not all of them get much attention. Main sports are the focus here.

Admission: The faculty at our college is top-notch! They're the best part of college life. Semester exams can be tough, but we get preparatory leaves to help us out. The pass percentage varies depending on the semester - some are harder than others.
Placement: Our college gets a lot of students placed in good jobs. Last year, out of 210 cadets, only 10-15 didn't get placed. In our 4th year, around 10-12 companies came for recruitment. And more than half of them were hiring from our college for the first time.
Campus: The classrooms are okay, nothing special. We've got three buildings for regular classes. There's also a workshop and a separate building just for engineering and deck cadets to practice on simulators. The food is pretty good, better than other college messes, but it gets boring because it's the same stuff over and over. We've got three hostels two for cadets in their first to third year, and one for fourth years and ETO. The best hostel is the one for fourth years, then it's hostel 2, and lastly, hostel 1.
