IIM Mumbai CAT cutoff 2025 for the General category is expected to range between 85–90 percentile overall, with sectional cutoffs of around 70–80 percentile in VARC, DILR, and QA. For reserved categories such as NC-OBC, SC, ST, and PwD, the cutoff percentiles are comparatively lower. For specialised MBA programs like Operations & Supply Chain Management and Sustainability Management, the shortlisting follows similar CAT-based criteria, with closing percentiles slightly higher for highly preferred-after courses.

 

For the Executive MBA, candidates are shortlisted based on eligibility, professional work experience, and PI performance, while Ph.D. program admissions accept valid scores in CAT, GRE, GMAT, GATE, JRF, or IIMSAT, evaluated alongside academic records and interviews.

IIM Mumbai CAT Cutoff 2025 (Expected)

The minimum expected overall IIM Mumbai CAT 2025 cutoff percentiles for shortlisting are different for each category and section. For IIM Mumbai CAT cutoff for general category, candidates are expected to achieve at least 80 percentile in both Verbal Ability & Reading Comprehension and Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning, 75 percentile in Quantitative Ability, and an overall percentile of 85 or more. For NC-OBC and EWS, the sectional cutoffs are slightly low ,70 percentile in VARC, 65 in DILR and QA, and an overall percentile of 75 are required. SC candidates need 65 in VARC, 60 in DILR and QA, and 70 overall, ST candidates require 55 percentile in every section and 65 overall. For the PwD category, the minimum required is 45 percentile in all sections with an overall percentile of 55. These cutoffs define the minimum level of performance in each category and section that a candidate must have to be considered for the Personal Interview stage.

IIM Mumbai Selection Criteria 2025

From the candidates satisfying the criteria of Stage-I, shortlisted candidates will be called for Personal Interview (PI) based on their CAT-2025 score, along with sectional cutoffs considering their reservation category.

 

For final selection process ‘Academic Performance & Work Experience Score (APWE Score)’ of an applicant will be used. An applicant’s APWE score will be based on their percentage of marks obtained in the 10th standard, the 12th standard (depending upon the stream, viz., ‘Science’, ‘Commerce’ and ‘Arts & Humanities’), the bachelor’s degree programme (depending upon the discipline) and work experience.
