About IISER

The IISER Kolkata was established by the ministry of education, Government of India in 2006. IISER Kolkata is an Institute of National Importance and has its permanent campus at Mohanpur, near Kalyani in Nadia, West Bengal. IISER Kolkata courses include a five-year integrated BS-MS degree. Integrated PhD and PhD programs are also provided in the institute.

 

The IISER Kolkata admission is provided through the Joint Admissions Committee (JAC) channel based on the scores of the IISER Aptitude Test (IAT) for the UG courses. Admission to postgraduate and doctorate programs involves passing examination tests such as national level examinations such as JAM, GATE or CSIR-NET.

 

The IISER Kolkata facilities aim at promoting high-level scientific research and education. The campus has well-equipped labs with high quality equipment like CHN Analyzers, Differentiating Scanning Calorimeters, and Matrix assisted Laser Desorption Ionization (MALDI) equipment. IISER Kolkata Admission

The IISER Kolkata admission to the UG, PG, and PhD courses is based on the entrance exam. First the candidates need to fulfill the eligibility criteria of the relevant course they want to apply for. Here is the detailed IISER Kolkata admission process.

  • The applicants have to visit the official IISER admissions portal and submit the application form and pay the necessary fee (INR 2000 General/OBC, INR 1000 SC/ST/PwD).
  • The BS-MS dual degree program is accepted through the IISER Test (IAT), for postgraduate (MSc, PhD, Integrated PhD), separate admissions (JAM, GATE, or CSIR NET), and interviews; application and admission are outlined on the official site of IISER Kolkata.
