Admission: Route through state counselling led to IGMC admission clearly. Online registration was straightforward, document verification at campus felt a bit slow, but staff guidance during fee payment and final reporting was helpful and timely.

Academic: In our college, the teachers are really helpful and they know everything about their subjects, so the teaching quality is excellent. The curriculum is MBBS, which is what we need to become doctors, and it definitely makes students ready for the industry. You need fifty percent marks to pass.

Placement: For sure, if you do MBBS here, you definitely get a guaranteed one-year internship. After doing your PG from this place, you can apply for private jobs anywhere because IGMC's good name always stays with you. Since it's Himachal's top college, you will gain a lot of experience and don't need to worry at all about getting placed.

Campus: Here in college, we have fully equipped labs, which is really helpful for studies. The teachers and all the staff are very good, they do their work sincerely and help everyone out. Also, we have nice badminton courts and a good mess with tasty food. The library here is also well-stocked and good quality. Plus, we even get chances to go on sports tours, which makes it fun.

Admission: Admission at IGMC followed the usual state counselling process and felt well organized throughout. The online registration was smooth, document verification at the college was handled efficiently by staff, and communication regarding merit list updates remained clear during the entire process.

Academic: At IGMC, we have really good teachers, like the best ones. You get so much clinical exposure here because it is the top hospital in our state. The college curriculum follows all the latest rules set by NMC. For attendance, you need 75% in theory and 80% in practical classes. To pass, you have to get 50% aggregate marks, combining both theory and practical. Exams happen frequently, and their difficulty is usually moderate to tough.

Placement: In our college, you have to do an internship for one whole year, and they give a stipend of 20,000 rupees for that. Since this is a medical college, we dont have regular placements like other courses. But most students who pass out and want a job can easily find one in the private hospitals if they wish.

Campus: Our campus is pretty good, even if Shimla, being a hill area, means we don't have a massive amount of land for it. Wi-Fi is only there in the library, which is a bit limited, but the classrooms are modern and nice. We really could use two more lecture theatres though. For the boys' hostel, rooms are single, but only 23 first-year students get a spot; the rest join in their second year. Girls' hostel has double occupancy rooms, and they only get single rooms in their final year. Talking about food, the boys' hostel mess food is good, but for girls, it's not that great. Both hostels have a very good location though; the girls' one is near Ride, and the boys' hostel is in Sanjauli. Plus, the water purifiers and geysers are good quality.

Academic: Teachers are mostly helpful here. Many are well qualified, but sometimes they struggle to explain topics clearly. This means the overall teaching quality feels average, so you need to do a lot of self-study. The curriculum itself is relevant, but in the end, your success depends on how much hard work you put in.

Placement: I am an MBBS student, part of the 2014 batch here. My internship is currently ongoing at this hospital, and I will be finishing it by December 2019. We haven't had the interviews for jobs yet, but jobs are totally guaranteed once they happen, based on your preferred location. The salary you get after placement depends on which area you are assigned to.

Campus: Okay so, our college lecture halls are good. All departments have proper labs and facilities. Wi-Fi is available in the college and also at the hospital, which is nice. The library has tons of medical books and journals, but the only issue is there aren't many places to sit. Now, about the hostel, it's a bit far from both the college and hospital. Besides rooms and the mess, it doesn't really have any other facilities. And seriously, the mess food quality is quite bad.

Admission: Process at IGMC was quite organized after NEET counselling. Seat allotment and document verification were managed efficiently by the staff, the medical examination was thorough, and final registration felt simple with clear and timely orientation communication.

Academic: The teachers here are really helpful, like, properly qualified for their work. Their teaching quality is also very good. I know the course is super hard, but hey, saving lives is not an easy job, right? Our exam standards are kept really high, all for a good reason, so we become ready and good doctors.

Placement: So, about placements in medical colleges, it's quite different from engineering colleges, you know. Companies don't actually come to our campus to hire students here. It's more of an individual thing after you finish your MBBS degree. You can work as a Medical Officer (MO), but for that, you have to clear an exam first. Another option is to go for post-graduation and then apply for residency, and for that too, you definitely need to pass an exam.

Campus: At IGMC, the hostel setup and buildings are pretty standard. You can play sports like volleyball, football, and table tennis right inside the hostel. The mess food is also good here. But there's no canteen in the hostel itself. When it comes to rooms, boys get single rooms all for themselves, while girls have double bedrooms, meaning they share.

Admission: Experience of getting admission in IGMC felt structured after NEET scores. State counselling rounds were clear, document verification was detailed but smooth due to helpful staff, and final fee payment and registration were hassle free.

Academic: What I like most about our college is that our teachers are really helpful, smart, and know a lot about their subjects. The course we are studying is also very useful and fits well with what we need for the future. Plus, the semester exams are not too hard to clear.

Placement: From what I've seen, placements at our college are good, and students get decent salary packages. The highest salary package offered by private companies was 25 LPA. For those going into the government sector, the average salary package came out to be 10 LPA.

Campus: The infrastructure here is quite good. All the facilities are also great, and even the hostel facilities are nice.

Academic: In my college, the teachers are really good. They are all like MD/MS qualified in their subjects. Plus, they also work in hospitals, which gives us good exposure. Our course covers both theory and practical parts. We students often go to the hospital. There, we check on patients and learn about many different kinds of health problems.

Placement: Overall, this college is pretty good. They even provide internships for students, and these last for one whole year. The batch strength was 100 students until the 2018 batch, but now, from 2019 onwards, each batch has 120 students. When it comes to salary, it really depends on whether you get a government job or a private one, and also where you are placed.

Campus: What I like most about our college is that we have a library and a reading room which stays open 24 hours, which is very helpful for studying. Also, the classrooms are quite big and come with smart screens. We also get a badminton court inside and a proper auditorium for all the college programs. Talking about programs, many different functions are organised every year, and teachers make sure to take classes regularly without fail.

Academic: Our college makes sure we are ready for the industry because it follows the newest curriculum set by the Medical Council of India. The teachers here are super good at teaching. They are all very qualified and know their subjects well, with some being proper experts. Plus, they always help us clear any doubts we have.

Placement: Almost 100% of students get placed from our college, which is really good. Many students get jobs as a medical officer, with Himachal government primary health centres being the main recruiters. Talking about salaries, the highest someone got was 97,000 rupees a month, especially if they joined the Army Hospital through AMC SSC. For our course, the average salary is around 50,000 rupees every month. In general, for primary health centres, the average salary is about 40,000 rupees per month. Even the lowest salary offered is quite decent, like 25,000 rupees per month for a government job. Also, a one-year internship is compulsory here for all students.

Campus: Starting with our academic setup, the classrooms are really spacious and come with modern projectors and screens. We also have a central library, plus an e-library full of computers with LAN connectivity. Good Wi-Fi is available everywhere, both in the college and hostel buildings. When it comes to the hostel, they provide food that's both good and hygienic. Plus, there are medical facilities right there in the hostel itself. Our college also gives a lot of encouragement to sports, and guess what, there's even a basketball court inside the hostel area.

Academic: We get really good clinical exposure here because our hospital is the biggest one in the state. About the teachers, most are quite helpful, know their subjects well, and are good at teaching. Only a small number of teachers are not up to mark. Overall, the teaching quality is good. In the clinics, one teacher takes care of 25 students. But in regular classes, it's a lot different as one teacher teaches about 100 students.

Placement: From my experience, if you are looking for a government job after your studies, then you will 100% get one. You can also start your own private practice and earn really well. But for private practice, you need to build a good name for yourself first before getting a high salary. The college does not have any placement cell to help with jobs. Still, the average salary offered is around Rs. 40,000 every month. And during your training period, the stipend you get is Rs. 15,000 per month.

Campus: About the campus facilities, the classrooms are good and quite spacious, and the labs are also nice. Wi-Fi is there, but only some students can actually use it. The canteen food is good, that's a plus. For boys, they get single rooms in the hostel, but girls have to share, usually 2 to 4 girls in one room. The campus itself is not that big, just okay.

Academic: Proffs here are really top-notch. Many of them are actually the best doctors in the state, maybe even in all of India. They have so much experience, like 20 to 30 years working in their field. Most of them are super helpful and always ready to guide us, even though a few can be a bit strict. They use different ways to teach, like using the blackboard, showing PPTs, and also doing seminars and role plays. The college also makes sure we get a lot of practical experience by arranging clinical postings, even maternity and night duties, so we get good exposure to everything.

Placement: When it comes to jobs, our college is quite good. For the batches that passed out in 2017 and 2018, they got 100% placements. Most of these students landed jobs with the Himachal government since there was a big need for doctors in the state. If you get a government job in the state, the salary package is really handsome. Students can also look for jobs with the central government or in private hospitals. Some even choose to open their own clinic and start practicing on their own. Also, many students decide to go for post graduation. The college made sure all students got internships, and they offered a stipend of Rs. 15,000 every month, plus free accommodation facilities.

Campus: What I like about our college is how well-equipped the library is; it's really spacious. We also get good Wi-Fi in the library and in the boys hostel. The hostel has single occupancy rooms which are great and come fully furnished. You won't have to worry about food because the cafeteria serves really good stuff, and it's even run by Himachal Tourism. For academics, every department has its own labs. We have five lecture theatres; three are excellent, but two are not so good. Medical facilities are covered since we have the biggest hospital in the state nearby. There are basketball and badminton courts for sports. Only downside is no playgrounds on campus, but there are spots close to college where we can play.

Academic: At IGMC, the teachers are really good and they know their stuff. They always help out students with any questions. Our college curriculum is very focused, and the syllabus also gets updated with new trends. For exams, they are pretty easy to pass if you just learn everything from the textbooks, so you can score well. But honestly, these exams don't really push us to think in a deep way.

Placement: In our course, I think about 60-70% of students got job placements. The salaries for these jobs were around 45-55k every month. Mostly, these students found work in primary healthcare centres and community healthcare centres. The rest of the students decided to study for NEET PG instead, hoping to get even better job opportunities later on.

Campus: My time at IGMC has been a really good experience. To be honest, this college is super spacious for the students. The hostels here are also very good, but you can expect the mess food to be just regular, like in most hostels. Our library has a large number of relevant books, which is great, but the actual seating space inside the library is quite small for all the students.
