JBIMS Mumbai Hostel 2026: Fees, Seats, Eligibility & Facilities

Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies (JBIMS), Mumbai does not have a separate hostel facility on its campus. Instead, a limited number of students can access accommodation through the University of Mumbai hostel at Marine Drive. The hostel facility is therefore not available to every JBIMS student, and accommodation should not be considered guaranteed with admission. JBIMS's current website also carries a hostel-related circular, while its admission documentation advises candidates to verify hostel availability and applicable fees.

Based on the latest available information, 25 JBIMS students are offered hostel accommodation on a merit basis, with the reported annual hostel fee at INR 7,000. The facility is particularly relevant for students coming from outside Mumbai who need accommodation close to the Churchgate campus.

JBIMS Mumbai Hostel Highlights 2026

This section covers the key details of hostel accommodation available to JBIMS students, including the number of seats, location and fee.

JBIMS does not operate an independent hostel within its Churchgate campus. Available information indicates that 25 students are accommodated through the University of Mumbai hostel at Marine Drive on a merit basis.

JBIMS Mumbai Hostel Fees 2026

The reported JBIMS Mumbai hostel fee is INR 7,000 per year for the University of Mumbai hostel accommodation. This is substantially lower than the cost of private accommodation in South Mumbai.

However, candidates should verify the applicable fee and availability for their admission year directly with the institute or hostel authorities. JBIMS admission documentation specifically advises candidates to verify hostel availability and hostel fees rather than assuming accommodation is guaranteed.

JBIMS Mumbai Hostel Eligibility 2026

Hostel accommodation at JBIMS is limited and is not automatically provided to students after admission. The available information indicates that hostel allotment is based on merit, with only a small number of students receiving accommodation.

Students seeking hostel accommodation should therefore:

• Secure admission to JBIMS.
• Meet the applicable hostel eligibility requirements.
• Apply for hostel accommodation within the prescribed timeline.
• Participate in the merit-based allotment process.
• Submit the required documents.
• Confirm availability and applicable hostel charges before finalising accommodation plans.

Students should also keep alternative accommodation options ready because hostel availability is limited. JBIMS's admission material states that hostel accommodation cannot be guaranteed to admitted candidates.

JBIMS Mumbai Hostel Seat Intake 2026

The reported hostel allocation for JBIMS students is limited to 25 seats. These seats are allotted on the basis of merit, making hostel accommodation highly competitive.

Because the number of seats is significantly lower than the total student strength across JBIMS programmes, most students need to arrange accommodation independently.

JBIMS Mumbai Hostel Location and Accessibility

The hostel accommodation associated with JBIMS is located at Marine Drive in South Mumbai through the University of Mumbai hostel system. The location is relatively close to the institute's Churchgate campus and is well connected to major parts of Mumbai.

Marine Drive and Churchgate are served by Mumbai's extensive public transport network, making commuting between the hostel and JBIMS comparatively convenient.

The central location also provides students with access to restaurants, markets, public transport and other essential services.

Facilities Available at JBIMS Mumbai Hostel

Since JBIMS does not operate an independent hostel building, facilities depend on the University of Mumbai hostel where the student is accommodated.

Students should confirm the current facilities, room arrangements, rules and other charges with the concerned hostel administration before taking admission.

The hostel arrangement is primarily intended to provide residential accommodation rather than the extensive residential infrastructure found at fully residential B-schools.

JBIMS Mumbai Hostel for Boys and Girls

Available secondary sources report that the limited hostel accommodation associated with JBIMS has historically been available primarily to male students, with separate accommodation arrangements for female students generally not being available through this facility.

However, hostel rules and availability can change. Students should confirm the current gender-wise accommodation policy with JBIMS or the University of Mumbai before relying on the hostel facility.

Alternative Accommodation Near JBIMS Mumbai

Since only a limited number of students can obtain hostel accommodation, many JBIMS students look for private accommodation in and around South Mumbai.

Common options include:

• Paying guest accommodation
• Private hostels
• Shared apartments
• Rented flats
• Student accommodation near Churchgate and Marine Lines

Areas around Churchgate, Marine Lines, Charni Road and Colaba can be considered depending on budget, commute requirements and availability. Students should compare rent, deposit, food arrangements and commuting costs before selecting accommodation.
