MLCU- Scholarships Offered

Before we delve into the specific scholarships, let's list them all in a single view. This will provide an easy-to-refer snapshot of all scholarships available at Martin Luther Christian University:

 

MLCU- MLCU Scholarships Details

Our MLCU Scholarship Fund (MLCUSF), provides financial aid to students on a Merit-Means basis. This scholarship is awarded annually based on certain conditions:

 

The applicant needs to be enrolled in a full-time degree or diploma course and must have completed at least one year/semester of the course. Also, the applicant should have good academic progress and attendance records. Each year, we award up to thirty scholarships, each amounting to INR 10,000. The MLCU Committee holds the authority for decision-making pertaining to all applications.

 

MLCU- NEC Merit Scholarship Details

Students admitted in their first year of studies at Martin Luther Christian University can benefit from our North Eastern Council (NEC) Merit Scholarship. This scholarship is open for renewal for permanent residents of Meghalaya studying within or outside the state. Eligibility includes students of Diploma, Degree, post-graduate, or M.Phil. / Ph.D courses of any institute recognized by the Government. Applicants must have valid Identity Proof, previous class mark sheets, and a PRC Certificate issued by the Deputy Commissioner of the District. The total annual income of the family should not exceed more than INR 8,00,000.

 

MLCU- Central Sector Scholarship Details

The Central Sector Scholarship issued by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Department of Higher Education, Government of India, is available for students who are permanent residents of Meghalaya. The conditions for eligibility include Indian nationality, family annual income below INR 8,00,000, and securing above 80% in the relevant stream conducted by MBOSB. Renewal of the scholarship is contingent on promotion to the next class with the student securing 50% or more marks or equivalent grade point average in aggregate for the two preceding semesters or of the annual examination, alongside maintaining 75% attendance.

 

MLCU- Scholarship Scheme for Minority Details

Our Scholarship Scheme for Minority is categorized into Merit-Cum-Means based Scholarships, Post Matric Scholarship, and Pre-Matric Scholarship. These scholarships are awarded to meritorious students of minority communities including Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, Buddhists, Zoroastrians (Parsis) and Jains. Eligibility criteria include securing not less than 50% marks or equivalent in the previous final examination, and family annual income not exceeding INR 2,50,000, INR 2,00,000 and INR 1,00,000 for Merit-Cum-Means Scholarships, Post Matric Scholarships and Pre-Matric Scholarships respectively.

 

MLCU- AICTE-Pragati & Saksham Scholarship Details

The AICTE-Pragati & Saksham Scholarship is available for permanent residents of Meghalaya. The Pragati Scholarship is for two girl children per family, while the Saksham Scholarship is for students with disabilities of not less than 40%. The family's total annual income must not exceed more than INR 8,00,000 and submission of a valid income certificate by the Competent Authority is mandatory.

 

MLCU- Government of Meghalaya Scholarships Details

Martin Luther Christian University also provides scholarships administered by the Government of Meghalaya. The scholarships offered under this scheme include the Umbrella Scheme-Ministry of Tribal Affairs (For ST students), National Handicapped Finance And Development Corporation, Social Welfare Department Disability Sector, State Resource Centre on Disability Affairs and Meritorious Scholarships for the PwD students.
