Admission: In our college, we're kinda isolated, so there aren't many teachers around. This means one teacher has to handle loads of different subjects. Getting a good grade, like an 8 CGPA, can be tough in some majors. But hey, we've got all the tools we need for hands-on stuff. The only downside is that we're in a temporary location, so all our labs are crammed into a small space.
Placement: In my batch, a lot of students got jobs more than 80%! The top salary was INR 20 LPA. Students landed jobs at cool places like L&T, RELIANCE, C-DAC, and C-DOT. I'm in the EEE branch, and everyone in my branch got placed. Many students scored internships at top companies, including PSUs like Power Grid and NHPC. In my department, most students got roles as GETs in core companies. Core companies might not pay as much as IT, but they're still great and let us pick our roles.
Campus: The facilities here at NIT are not what we hoped for. The Wi-Fi has too many restrictions, so we can't watch a lot of YouTube videos. The food quality is pretty bad too. Being in a remote area, the other facilities are not great either. Teachers don't really encourage us to play sports. We only get to play when students organize something. We do have Sports Day once a week, though.

Admission: The BTECH program here is super busy. You gotta do everything - theory, practicals, vivas, mid-terms, end-terms, and projects in the final year. We have like 5-6 hours of classes every day, plus 2 mid-term exams and one end-term. But I heard it's pretty much the same in all IITs and NITs, so I guess it's not too bad. Can't really complain about it.
Placement: If you work hard, you can land good job placements here. Every year, around 80% of students get placed with an average salary of around 9-10 LPA. For branches like CSE and ECE, the placement rate is 90-95%, and for branches like EEE, ME, and CE, it's 80-85%. Some big companies that come for placements are CDAC, CDOT, BEL, NVIDIA, L&T, VEDANTA, GENPACT, DELOITTE, IBM, SLB, HCLTech, and more.
Campus: The college is in a super remote area in Ravangla. It's a bit tricky because you have to share a room with 5 people. It can make it hard to do your own thing or study. But other than that, the facilities are decent. The classrooms have smart boards which is cool, and the labs have everything you need.

Admission: Our first semester was a bit tough due to online classes caused by coronavirus. The teachers were new to teaching online, so it was a bit hard to understand at first. But as time went on, they really worked hard to help us out. They gave us notes, books, PDFs, and video lectures to make sure we understood everything. We could ask them anything we didn't get. We had two types of exams. The first one had mid-term exams with 10 marks for the written part and 10 marks for the viva part. The viva exam was done with the video on. The second type of exam was the final written exam. We also had assignments worth 25 marks and reports worth 10 marks.
Placement: I'm a second-year B.Tech student at NIT Sikkim. First year went well with good marks. Now in my 4th semester and things are still good. NIT Sikkim is new, so it's in a temporary campus at Ravangla. Placements are a bit low, but that's normal for new NITs. In 2020, about 70% of students got placed. For CSE, ECE, and EEE, it's almost 100%. Civil and mechanical engineering have slightly fewer placements, like 10 out of 30 students. But it's getting better each day because our labs are improving. Soon, we might reach 70% to 80% placement rate. Our college offers internships at companies like L&T, IBM, Microsoft, and TCS.
Campus: Even though the campus at NIT Sikkim is still under construction, they've got everything we need for studying and research right here. The library, digital classrooms, labs, workshop, lecture hall, gym, hostels you name it, they've got it. And guess what? We even have a supercomputer called PARAM Kanchenjunga on campus! In the last 5 years, from 2016 to 2021, the campus has really improved a lot. It's great to see how much progress we've made.

Admission: The teachers here all have Ph.D.s from top colleges and really know their stuff. The courses are just like the ones at top IITs, so we're learning what we need for the real world. It's important to study hard to do well on the exams, but it's worth it. The pass rate is 35%, so you gotta stay on top of your game.
Placement: Around 25-32 students take this course every year. About 44-55% of students from the mechanical branch get jobs. The percentage of placements goes up each year. The highest salary is 10 LPA and the lowest is 5 LPA. Everyone gets internships, and L&T is the main company that hires. They offer roles like automotive engineer and construction engineer.
Campus: The college has everything you need gym, playground, library, and Wi-Fi. Right now, we're in a temporary campus, but they're building a permanent one that should be ready in 3-4 years. The food is decent, with non-veg options 5 days a week. Plus, there's an ambulance on campus for emergencies.

Admission: The teachers at this college are really great. They take the time to explain things slowly so we can understand. They also recommend other courses to help us get good jobs after we graduate. I feel supported by them every day.
Placement: We have some great internship chances here. Our seniors have landed awesome jobs thanks to the college's training and placement cell. They help us find placements and internships. The highest salary our seniors got was 23 LPA.
Campus: The facilities for our course are good, but the hostel is not great because it's temporary. They're building a new campus that should be done by 2023. Hopefully, the new campus will have better hostel and food options.

Admission: Studying for exams wasn't too hard, but learning online during the pandemic was tough. Everyone passes, which is nice. Internships are great for getting hands-on experience. The course is good, but some parts don't seem very useful.
Placement: Most students at our college land internships at top places like IIT Kanpur, IIT Bombay, and other institutes. Some of our classmates are already working at companies like Syngene, Byjus, and Sunpharma, while others are getting ready for PhD programs. On average, the monthly salary is around 30k. It's great to see so many opportunities opening up for us after graduation.
Campus: The campus has Wi-Fi everywhere, which is great. The labs don't have good equipment, but that's understandable since we're in the mountains of South Sikkim. The hostel is nice and the food is okay. The medical facilities are pretty good too.

Admission: I studied at NIT Sikkim for B.Tech, M.Tech, and doctoral programs. Each course had different requirements for admission. The faculty knew a lot about industry programs and were always looking for new opportunities.
Placement: I'm really impressed with how NIT Sikkim is doing with placements. The B.Tech program in Electrical and Communication Engineering had the highest placement rate at 89%. They started training us for jobs right from the first year, and it really paid off.
Campus: The campus had good security in place. It was easy to finish my degree without any problems. The college supported private and public transport, as well as auto-rickshaws. If we had any issues, we could write them down and put them in the complaint box at the canteen.

Admission: The teachers here are smart and know their stuff. Some might not have as much experience, though. The exams are fair we have 2 midterms worth 15 points each, a final exam worth 50 points, and 20 points for our work during the semester. You need at least 40% to pass.
Placement: The placements at NIT are pretty good. Most students get placed every year. Companies like Intel and BEL Power Grid come for placements, with around 80-90% of students getting placed. For CS students, placements are good overall. However, core branch students may have fewer company visits.
Campus: The infrastructure at NIT Sikkim isn't great because it's a new NIT. It's on a temporary campus with limited resources due to being in a hilly area. However, overall it's okay. The hostel looks after students well, so that's good. The hostel itself is decent, but the food in the mess isn't great there's always an issue with the quality.

Admission: The teachers here are really helpful and know their stuff. The teaching quality is better than most. The course content is good, but the pass rate could be higher. And all the teachers are super supportive, which is awesome.
Placement: The job placement rate this year is really high, above 80%. Big companies like Western Digital, Autodesk, and Deloitte come to hire students. 100% of us get internships, with some landing spots at BHEL, IOCL, and other good companies. Every student in our college gets a job. Placements here are solid.
Campus: The facilities at our college are just okay. The Wi-Fi here is pretty good, but the power supply is unreliable with frequent power cuts. The hostel isn't great either, and the food in the mess isn't the best. Each hostel room is shared by about five students.

Admission: All the teachers at our college have a Ph.D. or post doc. They're really qualified and teach well. The course is similar to GATE. It has a mix of tough theoretical stuff and fun numerical problems.
Placement: Placements vary from year to year. This year, despite the tough times, our college had great job offers. Companies like Infineon, Nvidia, and Deloitte often hire from our college. Everyone gets internships here, which is awesome.
Campus: We have plenty of facilities even though our college is on a temporary campus. Every department has the instruments and machines they need. The facilities are really good quality. Plus, we've got a sports committee that organizes sports activities.
