Admission: Simplicity described the Panjab University admission process, from easy online form filling to expected merit list release. Counselling, verification, registration, and orientation were all well-managed.

Academic: Your academics in college really depend on your own hard work, like it is in most places. The semester exams are not that tough, you can pass them easily if you study well. We have some really good faculty members, they are exceptional, but then there are others who are just okay. The course we follow is the standard one for engineering colleges, but it does feel a bit old-school these days.

Placement: Our faculty here is really helpful and they definitely support students in getting internships and all. For placements, the scene in our college is quite good. Many big companies like KPMG and Deloitte visit our campus. We also have a special DIC lab that works with Nottingham University in the UK, and they give good internship opportunities to students. Companies even start coming for placements way before the 8th semester begins.

Campus: In our college, we students from UIET can use the entire Panjab University campus, which is really good. This means we get access to many facilities, like a swimming pool, a big playground, and even a shooting range. The whole campus has Wi-Fi too, which is very helpful. For studying, we have two libraries. One is the AC Joshi library, it's open 24 hours, and the other one is specifically for UIET and opens during college time. Our classrooms are okay, I'd say moderately good, and the best part is that CSE and IT departments get classrooms with AC.

Admission: Flow of admission at Panjab University remained streamlined, supported by a user-friendly portal and timely merit list release. Counselling, verification, registration, and orientation communication were all well-coordinated.

Academic: From my experience, our teachers are really good at teaching skills and explain everything so clearly. This course is made to get students ready for the industry. Semesters aren't very tough here, and you just need 33% to pass. If you focus on your studies a bit, and also enjoy college life, you can easily pass all your exams.

Placement: About placements in DAV Chandigarh, it's good that more than 50% of the students from our college get placed. The salary package depends on the company, but it usually starts from Rs. 15,000 to Rs. 20,000 per month. The highest package can go up to Rs. 50,000 to Rs. 80,000 per month. Big companies like Amul, Verka, and other food processing organizations come for hiring. Around 5-10% of students also get internships in these food processing companies, including Maggi and Britannia. The roles offered are things like food management official, food survey official, or even food-making chief, plus other food-related jobs.

Campus: The hostel and the food served in it are really good, and our canteen is quite hygienic too. For Food Science and Technology, the college gives us everything we need for experiments and other stuff. But when it comes to sports and games, they are just average. The college authorities don't really push for games much here.

Admission: Management from counselling to joining was handled efficiently, with clear updates on important dates and fee deadlines. Communication stayed timely throughout, avoiding last-minute confusion and ensuring a smooth process.

Academic: For mechanical students, the teachers are really nice and super helpful. They make sure to explain everything super clearly. Also, they prepare us well for interviews and teach us a lot of things. Our semester exams can be a bit tough sometimes, but if you study hard, getting good marks is possible. You need to get 40 out of 100 marks to pass.

Placement: Placements for mechanical engineering students are quite strong here. Usually, out of 35 students, almost 30 to 33 manage to get placed. The salary packages are also good, with the highest touching 13 LPA, an average of 7 LPA, and the lowest package being 4 LPA. Top companies like Godrej come to recruit mechanical students. Apart from placements, students also get useful internships at places like CSIO, BIS, and other local companies like BELL and DRDO.

Campus: The girls hostel is super clean and kept well. We have a good mess and a canteen too, where the food is alright, like, it's fine but not top-notch. For the boys hostel though, it's a bit of a mess, not as good as the girls side. They give cold water to drink, and hostel rooms even come with a balcony. Also, there's Wi-Fi available and a library for us.

Academic: Semester exams here are quite doable if you study hard for them. You need to get at least 50% credit to pass the year, otherwise you get a year back. Our teachers are really good and qualified, with most of them holding PhD degrees. They know their subjects very well, which is great. The course curriculum is useful and just like what other engineering colleges have.

Placement: Honestly, I'm just a first-year student, so I don't know everything about placements yet. But from what I've seen, it's quite good here. There are many opportunities because I heard an EEE senior got 6 LPA, and an IT senior landed a 14 LPA package. Also, a CSE senior got around 12 LPA, and all these offers came at the very start of their final year. So yeah, placements seem pretty decent.

Campus: The facilities in our college are really good. We have proper labs for each branch, whether it's for electrical or computer subjects. Also, the whole campus has Wi-Fi that runs very smoothly, which is a big plus. Classrooms are decent enough, and the library is super well-maintained. It's a quiet place, perfect for studying in your free time.

Admission: Transition into PU felt smooth, with a clear counselling process after the merit list. Document verification was quick, the registration portal worked well, and staff assistance made onboarding easy.

Academic: I like about our college is how the teachers are really good and qualified. They teach us using the PTU curriculum. Plus, we get these special DCPD classes, which are super helpful to make us ready for jobs. The only thing is, while we can pass with around 6 CGPA, the companies that come for placements usually want students to have 7 or 8 CGPA minimum.

Placement: A good 80-85% of students here get jobs. The highest package someone got recently was a huge 1 crore, and that was for a CSE final year student. On average, students get about 7-8 LPA. Lots of companies come to our campus every year for hiring. Big names like Microsoft, Google, Autodesk, and Byju's are among the top ones that visit, plus many others.

Campus: Our college has really good facilities. All the labs are fully equipped and classrooms are well furnished, and we get Wi-Fi everywhere on campus which is super helpful. There is also a 24/7 medical facility for any emergencies. The classrooms in our department are decent, all of them have projectors, and some are even smart classrooms with smart screens. If you want to study quietly or need reference books, the library is actually very useful. And for guest lectures, there's a seminar hall too.

Admission: Efficiency stood out during my joining at PU, as counselling schedules were prompt after the merit list. Document verification was quick, staff were cooperative, and onboarding felt smooth.

Academic: So about studies here, our college has two mid-sem exams, each for 30 marks. They only count the better score out of these two for your final results. These mid-sems are usually easier, and you can often find questions repeated from old papers. Then, the end-sem exam is set by professors from UIETH Chandigarh and it's for 50 marks. It's not super hard, but definitely not as easy as the mid-sems. To pass, you need a total of 40 out of 100, and you also need at least 10 out of 50 marks just in the end-sem. Our teachers are pretty good. There isn't much problem with attendance, and also not too much study pressure, except maybe with a few professors. At the end of the day, you have to study well yourself to be ready for the industry and get a job.

Placement: Talking about placements, they are quite good here, like above average for sure. Roughly 70% of students usually get placed, which is decent. For example, Infosys, Quark, Chic Mic, Pie Infotech, Xenon Sack, Cognizant, Growth Native, and Josh Technologies are some companies that recently took our students. Also, big names like Paytm, Sonalika, Tech Mahindra, Zomato, Hitachi, Isuzu, and Policy Bazar have recruited from here before. The highest package someone got is 13.5 LPA so far, and on average, students get around 5-7 LPA. It's cool that one student even landed a 25 LPA job at Cisco off-campus in 2024. Even for mechanical guys, packages are decent, like 7 LPA. Technical placements are really strong, but if you are looking for core jobs, fewer companies visit for that.

Campus: College has a lot of sports stuff like a basketball court, football and cricket ground, volleyball court, badminton court, kho ground, and even a gym. Every year, there's also a 3-4 day annual sports meet with many games and athletic events. For medical needs, there's a dispensary open Monday to Friday, from 9 AM to 1 PM. Hostel rooms are just okay, like you would expect, and the mess food is just eatable. You'll find Wi-Fi in the hostel and academic block. But classrooms don't have AC, only the library, CS, and IT labs get AC.

Admission: Experience during admission was unexpectedly smooth, as the online application portal was intuitive and the merit list appeared quickly. Counselling schedules were communicated clearly, keeping the process straightforward without noticeable issues.

Academic: The semester exams are usually average in difficulty. If you study for about 10 to 15 days before, like 10-12 hours every day, you can do well. Most of our teachers are quite supportive, but there are a few exceptions. It's a good idea to stay in touch with them if you want to find out about projects or work with them. Honestly, the course content isn't really updated with what the industry needs these days. But on the plus side, the attendance policy isn't very strict, so you get enough free time to work on your skills.

Placement: As an ECE student at UIET college, I saw that the placements for our senior batch (2021-2025) were just average. The average package they got was 8 LPA. We had companies coming for analytics jobs, and ZS was the top one in that area. But for software engineering roles, the companies had very high and changing demands.

Campus: College has a really big library, the AC Joshi Library, which is actually one of the biggest in North India. The labs here are super well-equipped and even have ACs, but sadly, our classrooms don't have air conditioning. For internet, the college gives us a username and password to use their Wi-Fi. Hostels are just average, to be honest; the rooms are kinda small. But, they do have a 24-hour canteen facility and a reading room with AC, which is nice. The mess food is pretty much like any other hostel food, so don't really expect anything great there.

Admission: Streamlining defined entry into Panjab University, where document verification staff patiently guided each step. Registration felt organised, queries were answered promptly, and the initial joining phase stayed stress-free.

Academic: For passing exams here, we pretty much have to manage on our own. This is because while some professors are really good, the teaching quality overall is quite mixed. Many teachers have old ways of teaching or their research interests are just not current. So, we end up doing a lot of self-study and depend on online resources like NPTEL and YouTube to get things clear.

Placement: I've seen about placements here, if you are from CS or IT branch, placements are usually quite good. The highest salary package can go up to 7 to 10 LPA, and the average package is around 5 to 6 LPA. However, for branches like ECE, Mechanical Engineering, and Biotech, the core company placements are not very strong. Because of this, many students from these streams choose to go for software jobs or decide to pursue higher studies for exams like GATE, CAT, or GRE.

Campus: Infrastructure is just okay, honestly, not really top-class. While classrooms, labs, and equipment mostly work, some departments still use pretty old stuff. Also, the internet connection and tech support could definitely be better here. There's no hostel inside UIET campus, so everyone stays in PU hostels or PGs that are close by. I'd tell new students not to rely too much on the college for all these facilities.

Admission: Clarity defined Panjab University�s admission system, with smooth online registration and consistent merit list updates. Counselling ran efficiently, verification queues were manageable, and final registration stayed hassle-free.

Academic: I found the college quality to be pretty good. Our teachers are super helpful and quite knowledgeable. The curriculum is relevant and well-designed too. It's actually easy to score well in semester exams; you just need to study for a day or two before and you can get a good CGPA. The passing marks are 40 for each subject.

Placement: My brother told me, who finished his degree, everyone who was eligible got placed that year. For off-campus, the highest package went up to 20 LPA, and American Express gave this. They hired about 2-3 students and are like the best company for off-campus jobs. But, one big problem is we have to find our own internships because the college doesn't really help us out with them.

Campus: Our college has pretty much average facilities, typical for a government institute. For living, there are 8 hostels for boys and 10 for girls. Plus, we have an international hostel too, and its facilities are really good. The fee for the international one is 10,000 rupees every month. But for the regular boys and girls hostels, it's just 1,000 rupees a month, and the facilities there are decent, kind of average. About the food, it's not great, just okay, you can say average only.

Admission: Verification marked the beginning of my Panjab University admission, with structured counselling that moved slightly slowly. Post-selection registration was smooth, orientation details were explained clearly, and staff remained polite and responsive.

Academic: In my college, the teachers are super helpful and they really know their subjects well. The exams are usually moderate, so not too hard to pass. Around 65% of students pass their exams here, which is pretty good.

Placement: College has pretty good placements. Like, 85% of all students get placed. If we talk about engineering, it's 80%, and for our specific course, 70% of students got jobs. The salary packages are also quite impressive; the highest was 1.5 crore per year, but the lowest was 30,000 rupees. Top companies like Google, Amazon, Flipkart, IBM, Infosys, Springboard, and Techno come to recruit us for our course. Google is a big recruiter overall too.

Campus: The college has pretty good infrastructure and overall facilities. Especially the hostel facilities are very good, and the food served there is also quite nice. Also, the medical and security arrangements are decent.
