University College of Engineering, Kariavattom (UCEK) is a government engineering institution established in 2000 and managed directly by the University of Kerala. Located on the 350+ acre Kariavattom campus in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, UCEK is the only constituent engineering college of the University of Kerala and benefits from NAAC A++ accreditation. With an annual intake of approximately 250+ B.Tech seats and a total student strength around 800–1,000, the college offers flagship B.Tech programs in Computer Science, Electronics & Communication, and Information Technology. UCEK is adjacent to Technopark, providing students with excellent industry exposure and placement opportunities.

Admissions to UCEK are conducted through the KEAM (Kerala Engineering Architecture Medical) entrance exam, followed by centralized counseling and seat allotment. Candidates must have completed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics and meet the minimum age requirement of 17 years as of December 31 of the admission year. The process typically runs from April to July each year.
