Central University of Punjab (CUP) is a government university in Bathinda. At present, CUP offers more than 50 Postgraduate, Diploma, Certificate and Doctoral programs in the areas of Sciences, Technology, Humanities, Law, and Social Sciences. M.Sc, M.Pharm, and M.Tech are some of the most opted courses at the university. It also offers Short-Term Courses for skill development.

Admissions at Central University of Punjab for all PG and PhD courses are based on scores obtained in the entrance examination. The university accepts Common University Entrance Test (CUET PG) scores for admission to all PG courses. However, admission to M.Pharm and M.Tech courses are also offered based on GPAT and GATE scores, respectively. The final selection is done through a counselling process conducted by the university.

Central University of Punjab PG Admissions 

Central University of Punjab offers full-time MA, M.Sc, M.Com, M.Ed, MBA, MTech, M.Pharm, LLM, M.Lib.Sc., MFA, and MPA programs across various specializations at the postgraduate level. The duration of PG courses at CUP is 2 years. The basic eligibility criteria for admission to PG courses at CUP is to have a bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline from a recognized university. Admissions to all PG courses are based on scores obtained in the CUET PG examination followed by counselling conducted by the university.

Central University of Punjab PhD Admission 

Central University of Punjab (CUP) offers a full-time PhD program in 38 specializations through various schools and departments. The total seat intake for the PhD program at CUP including all specializations is 102. The basic eligibility criteria for admission to PhD at CUP is to have a master’s degree in a relevant discipline from a recognized university. Admissions to PhD are based on a written test followed by a personal interview conducted by the university.

What is the basic eligibility criteria for admission to Central University of Punjab?

The basic eligibility criteria for admission to Central University of Punjab is to have a bachelor's degree in the relevant discipline with a minimum of 50% (45% for SC/ST/OBC/PWD) aggregate marks from a recognised university. However in case of M.Pharm, the minimum aggregate marks is 55% (50% for SC/ST/OBC/PWD) in B.Pharm from a recognised university.

Is there a refund policy for hostel fees at Central University of Punjab?

Hostel fees at Central University of Punjab shall be refunded if the candidates withdraw/cancel their hostel seat within 30 days of its allotment. The hostel fee will be refunded after deducting the first month fee. In case the candidates cancel their hostel seats after 30 days of its allotment, only hostel security money will be refunded to them. A pro-forma is to be submitted by the candidate for the refund of hostel fee.

What is the hostel fee at Central University of Punjab?

The hostel fee at Central University of Punjab is quite reasonable. The total hostel charges to be deposited at the time of admission is INR 13,400 for general category and INR 6800 for SC/ST students. Additionally, the hostel fee per semester from second semester onwards will be INR 8400 for general category and INR 1800 for SC/ST students. It must also be noted that this fee does not include food/mess charges.

The Central University of Punjab has a health care centre that provides general treatment, first aid, and referral services to its employees and students.
