About GLC Mumbai

Government Law College in Mumbai, popularly known as GLC, is a government college established in 1855. GLC is among the oldest law colleges in Asia and is affiliated to the University of Mumbai. It offers LLB, BA LLB, LLM, along with UG and PG Diplomas and certificate courses. The college is accredited by AICTE and recognised by the Bar Council of India (BCI). The college has strong placements, with students securing roles across top law firms like Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas and AZB & Partners, corporates such as Aditya Birla Group, Deloitte and Axis Bank, as well as opportunities with tribunals, NGOs, LPOs and leading counsels. GLC campus facilities include a collection of over 42,000 books in its historic library, a modern Electronic Research Room with access to leading legal databases, 19 classrooms, a dedicated mooting room, an auditorium and a canteen.

GLC Mumbai Courses and Fees 2025

The Government Law College offers LLB and BA LLB courses at the UG level, PG Diploma and LLM courses at the PG level. Diploma and PG Certificate courses are also available at the college. The duration of these courses ranges from 3 months to 5 years.

GLC Mumbai Admissions 2025

GLC Mumbai Admission to the BA LLB and LLB courses is offered based on the candidate’s merit in MHT CET Law followed by further counselling rounds. The candidate’s merit in the previous qualifying exam is considered for Diploma, PG Diploma, and PG Certificate Admission. Students seeking admission to merit based courses can apply online on the institute's official website.

  • For entrance based admissions, candidates need to first register for the MH CET Law exam and appear on the scheduled date and venue.
  • Once the cutoff is released, candidates that qualify need to then register for CAP Counselling.
  • Students have to select GLC Mumbai as the preferred college at the time of counselling.
  • For Diploma and certificate courses, candidates can directly apply on the official GLC website.
  • Pay the application fee online, to successfully submit the form.

Can I get direct admission at GLC Mumbai?

Yes. Students can get direct admission to the Diploma and Certificate courses based on their performance in the previous year's exam. However, admission to LLB, BA LLB, and LLM courses is based on the candidate’s MHT CET Law exam performance.
