IIM Calcutta Admissions 2025: Courses, Fees, Dates, Eligibility & Application Process

IIM Calcutta, established in 1961, holds the Triple Crown Accreditation (AACSB, AMBA, and EQUIS). This makes it one of the best management institutes globally. For aspiring candidates who are willing to pursue MBA, PGDM, or PhD programs, IIM Calcutta is one of India's top-tier business schools. IIM Calcutta offers admission based on merit in various categories. Applicants must hold a graduation or post-graduation degree with valid marks and an entrance exam scorecard. The final selection will be based on academic excellence, work experience, entrance exam score, PI, statement of purpose, etc.

CAT 2025 registration will start on August 1, 2025, at 10:00 AM and will close on September 13, 2025, at 5:00 PM. Admit cards will be available for download from 5 November 5 to 30 November 2025. The CAT 2025 exam is scheduled for 30 November 2025, and the results are likely to be announced in the first week of January 2026. The CAT application fee has been revised to INR 2600 for General category candidates and INR 1300 for SC/ST/PwD candidates.

IIM Calcutta MBA Admissions 2025

IIM Calcutta offers a two-year, full-time residential MBA program. The program consists of a core curriculum in the first year, a summer internship, and elective course options in the second year. The selection process differs for domestic and international students.

• To be eligible, applicants must hold a bachelor's degree with a minimum CGPA of 50% (45% for SC/ST/PwD). After fulfilling the academic eligibility, applicants must also appear for the CAT and obtain a valid score.
• After clearing the CAT cutoff, candidates will be shortlisted for a personal interview and a Writing Ability Test (WAT).

Parameters and weightage for deriving composite scores for PI and WAT are as follows:

• CAT 2024 Score: 56
• Class 10 marks: 10
• Class 12 marks: 15
• Gender Diversity Factor: 4
• Total Weightage: 85

The final selection for MBA will be based on merit in each category. Overseas candidates must have a valid GMAT score (or CAT score if applicable) to be admitted to the MBA program at IIMC.

IIM Calcutta Ex MBA Admission 2025

To be eligible for the MBA Executive program, candidates must hold a bachelor's degree and have a valid GMAT score. Additionally, the candidate must have at least 5 years of full-time post-qualification managerial/ professional experience.

IIM Calcutta PGDBA Admissions 2025

IIM Calcutta, IIT Kharagpur, and ISI jointly offer the PGDBA program, which is available at IIM Calcutta. This course is a 2-year-long, full-time residential program. To apply for the PGDBA program, candidates must hold a graduation or post-graduation degree with a minimum of 60% marks or a 6.5 CGPA.

For selection to the PGDBA program, the institute conducts a PGDBA CBT exam and a personal interview. The final selection will be based on weightage and components in the table below:

The Postgraduate Programme for Executives in Visionary Leadership in Manufacturing is a one-year residential course. This course is conducted jointly by IIM Calcutta, IIT Madras, and IIT Kanpur. The program is designed by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Department for Promotion of Industry & Internal Trade, Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), and the Ministry of Education, Government of India. The total intake of the PGPEX-VLM program for the academic session 2025-26 is 40 students.

According to the eligibility criteria for PGPEX-VLM, candidates must be first-class or first-division graduates. He/she must have a minimum of 4.5 years and a maximum of 10 years of working experience.

After fulfilling the eligibility criteria, candidates will be shortlisted for a written test to examine Verbal Ability, Quantitative Ability, and Engineering Ability. Candidates passing the written test will be called for a personal interview round.

IIM Calcutta started offering a full-time residential doctoral program in 1971. Candidates holding a post-graduation degree and a bachelor’s degree with 50% are eligible to apply for PhD programs. PhD applicants must have a valid CAT score to be selected for the program.

Key Guidelines:

• You can complete the form in multiple sessions — your progress will be saved automatically.
• Review all details carefully before submitting the application fee. No changes are allowed after payment.
• Incorrect or incomplete forms may be rejected.
• SC/ST/PwD candidates must upload valid certificates. Category changes cannot be made after registration.
• A short correction window will be available after registration closes for a limited time only.
