I.K. Gujral Punjab Technical University (IKGPTU), formerly known as Punjab Technical University (PTU), is a state university located in Jalandhar, India, established in 1997. The university was renamed in 2015 to honor the late Shri Inder Kumar Gujral, the former Prime Minister of India. IKGPTU offers a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate degree programs, including B.Tech, B.Pharm, B.Pharm (Lateral), B.Tech (Lateral), B.Arch, M.Tech, M.Arch, MBA, M.Sc., MCA, MCA (Lateral), and M.A. Additionally, the university also provides education through distance learning. To apply for B.Tech, candidates must have passed 10+2 in the science stream with a minimum of 50% marks, while admission to B.Arch is based on the NATA entrance exam. I.K. Gujral Punjab Technical University offers undergraduate programs including B.Tech in five specializations, B.Pharm, B.Arch, and lateral degree courses. I.K. Gujral Punjab Technical University offers Doctorate of Philosophy in 10 specializations. Candidates should have a master’s degree in a relevant discipline or an equivalent qualification with a minimum aggregate of 60% or equivalent CGPA of any of the Universities incorporated by an act of the central or state legislature in India to be eligible to apply for M.E. (Research) and Ph.D. program. Selection is done on the basis of previous academic records, Synopsis and the personal interview conducted by the University.

1. Candidates must apply online through the official website to participate in the admission process.
2. The merit list will be based on the marks secured by candidates in the Entrance Examination.
3. Both provisional and final merit lists will be displayed on the official website.
4. Applicants will be called for the counselling process as per their position in the merit list.
5. Seat allotment will be based entirely on the merit list and the availability of seats.
6. After seat allotment, candidates must report to the college for document verification and payment of academic fees.

Admissions to all courses are carried out strictly based on the merit of the entrance test, either through Centralized Counselling Procedure or Institute-level counselling.

CAP Counselling:

• Visit the official website of Punjab Technical University.
• Register as a new user and login with email id and password.
• After that, candidates will have to confirm the application form at the facilitation center.
• Provisional and final merit list will be displayed on its official website.
• In case of discrepancies, candidates can submit grievances during the display of the provisional list at the facilitation center.
• Candidates have to log in to fill and confirm online option forms with preferences of colleges and courses.
• CAP is conducted in 3 rounds and once college is allotted, candidates have to report to the allotted institute to confirm the admission.

• Candidates can collect Admission Form/Prospectus, Brochure and University magazine from the Administrative office by paying the application fee only by Demand Draft in favour of “I.K. Gujral Punjab Technical University” payable at Jalandhar.
• Fill the admission form in all respect
• In case of any difficulty, candidates should contact the Admission Center In-charge.
• Candidates should get his/her duly filled Admission Form examination at Admission Cell/Admission Data Entry Center.
• Submit the Admission Form along with all original documents and payment slip in the Administrative Office/Admission Data Entry Center.
• After completing all the process, candidates have to collect the Confirmation letter from Admission In-Charge.

Note: Candidates who are taking admission through CAP Counselling are also required to report at the Institute and follow the above-mentioned steps.
