Currently, the International Maritime Institute provides a number of pre-sea courses such as B.Tech in Marine Engineering, B.Sc/Diploma in Nautical Science, and Graduate Mechanical Engineering (GME)/Diploma. Admission to the B.Tech course is on the basis of merit in the IMU CET exam followed by counseling. For B.Tech Lateral Entry, the candidates are chosen on the basis of their performance in the Pre Screening Test (PST) and interview. The final choice to the second year of the B.Tech programme is subject to conditions such as payment of entire fees, submission of necessary documents, and a medical report. The admissions in the DNS (Diploma in Nautical Science) programme are made on the basis of merit obtained in the OPEN-NET entrance exam. The GME course choice is made based on the performance of the candidates in aptitude, IQ, reasoning, and psychometric tests, followed by an interview.
IMU CET 2025 registrations for BTech admissions at IMI Noida are open until May 2, 2025. The IMU CET exam will be conducted on May 24, 2025, for selection purposes.

The International Maritime Institute (IMI), located in Greater Noida, primarily accepts applications based on admission. Admission to B.Tech programmes is determined by the results of the Indian Maritime University Common Entrance Test (IMU CET), which is administered following counselling. Merit may be a factor, however the IMU CET test is quite important.
The online IMU CET application form will be out in March 2025, tentatively. The official date for application form and other events will be announced by the Indian Martime University. Candidates can apply for IMU CET 2025 through Online mode only.
