IIT Patna Scholarship And Financial Aid
IIT Patna gives a special Merit-cum-Means (MCM) Scholarship to help students who are good in studies and come from families with less money. This scholarship is for B.Tech, B.S., and M.Sc. students. Students from General and OBC categories get ₹1,000 every month for 8 months and also do not have to pay the tuition fee. Students from SC and ST categories get free food in the mess (basic meals), do not have to pay hostel room rent, and get ₹250 every month for 8 months as pocket money. To get this scholarship, students must have good marks (SPI or CPI of at least 6.5) and no fail grades in any subject. SC/ST students just need to make sure they don’t have any fail grades. Also, the total income of the student’s parents must be less than ₹4.5 lakhs in a year. Students must show a valid income certificate given by a government officer like a Tehsildar. If a student has already got another scholarship, they cannot take this one too.
