Kerala University of Fisheries and Ocean Studies is the first institution devoted to studying fisheries and related subjects in Kerala, which is also known as KUFOS. The Keralan government created it in 2010. It is an independent, publicly supported organisation with its main office located in Panangad, Kochi. Fisheries science undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs are available at the university. It also provides diplomas in brackish water and marine aquaculture as well as a postgraduate diploma in aquarium science and technology. The entrance exam result is considered as a selection criteria of KUFOS for different courses. KUFOS conducts KEAM (Kerala Engineering Agriculture Medical Entrance Examination) entrance exam for admission and accepts other entrance exams such as NEET, KUFOS CEE.

KUFOS Admission 2025
Candidates must complete the application in Specified format, if they want to get admission. The university conducts the entrance exams for different courses. To get admission to UG and PG programs, different entrance exams are accepted, such as KEAM, NEET-UG, CAT, and CMAT etc. Students may only apply for five programs at a time, and they will need to pay extra fees if they want to register for more courses. All courses accept online applications.

- Go to the Kerala University of Fisheries and Ocean Studies official website and select Admission Option from the Admission Tab.
- After a new tab opens, candidates need to create a user ID and password to register.
- Use the same user ID and password to access their account after registering.
- Once candidates have logged in, complete the application form accurately and save it at the same time.
- Candidates must now pick the courses category if relevant, and attach any supporting documentation.
- Send the applications by paying the necessary fees.
- Now print the application form out for future records.
KUFOS Scholarship 2025
The Kerala University of Fisheries and Ocean Studies provides Merit Scholarship and KUFOS Fellowship to postgraduate and doctoral students based on their qualifications. The primary goal of the fellowship is to provide all qualified post-graduate students with financial aid and incentives. KUFOS Scholarships are mentioned below
- KUFOS FELLOWSHIPS: The Junior Fellowship is available to deserving candidates accepted into the Kerala University of Fisheries and Ocean Studies Master's Program. Senior Fellowships are available to deserving applicants accepted into Ph.D. programs. Fellowships from KUFOS will not be awarded to students who have received any other scholarships, fellowships, or financial aid during that time. For postgraduate and doctoral students from each school, the university provides five fellowships each. The monthly cost of a senior research fellowship is Rs. 13,000, whereas that of a junior fellowship is Rs. 2,000.
- MANAPPURAM FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP: The Manappuram Foundation scholarship is available to three general category students and three fishermen's community members enrolled in an MBA program. The scholarship is worth Rs 4,000 each month. Every semester, qualified students will receive this scholarship.

- Library: The library has a lot of contemporary technology. There are more than 19,000 volumes, 2000 of which are reference books and 17,000 of which are fisheries and related textbooks.

- Swimming Pool: The university's campus features a large swimming pool with a four-and-a-half lakh-liter water capacity.
- Hostel: On campus, the university offers separate hostel accommodations for boys and ladies. The hostel is properly furnished with all the conveniences needed for a healthy stay. With two guest rooms, the boys' hostel can accommodate up to 60 pupils. The girls' hostel can house up to 133 students.
- Computer Facilities: The Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) provided funding for the university's well-equipped computer lab. Every computer in the lab is connected to the others via a Local Area Network (LAN).
