Modern College of Arts, Science and Commerce, Shivajinagar, Pune-5, established on 15th June 1970. It is affiliated to Savitribai Phule Pune University. And recognized by UGC under 2 (f) and 12 (B) since 1970.

The college was felicitated with the “Best College Award” by Savitribai Phule Pune University in 2008 and 2020, reaccredited with ”A” grade by NAAC, Bangalore in March 2010, and A+ grade with CGPA 3.51.

It Provides various academic courses to attain Bachelor and Masters Degrees in the field of Arts, Science, Commerce, Computer Science and computer applications.

The college ensures academic development of the students and provides them with opportunities to prove themselves by means of co-curricular and extra-curricular activities.

It has a career guidance centre which provides necessary information and guidance to the students required to improve their skills. Also the college is very well known in the field of sports.

Admission procedure for foreign NRI and Out of state students

Foreign and NRI students are not directly admitted to the college for any course of University. These students must obtain necessary permission from the University authorities and complete the formalities prescribed by the University. Such students will be governed by rules farmed by the University, college and other concerned authorities from time to time.

The students coming from other than Maharashtra state may be given admission to the respective courses depending upon availability of vacancies in accordance with eligibility norms prescribed by the University.

Eligibility

This table outlines program eligibility. B.Sc. and M.Sc. require a science background, while B.A. and B.Com. have broader requirements. BBA has multiple entry paths, including diplomas and commerce streams. For postgraduate programs, a bachelor's degree is mandatory.

Placement

Placement cell runs placement activity through a placement cell for postgraduate students and under-graduate students. Placement committee for the placement activity under the able guidance of 95% of students from the post-graduate wing.

All teaching and non-teaching staff members of the department provided necessary support in smooth conduct of this activity.

2. Project guidance is mage available from alumni to the students by lectures, project guidance & counselling sessions.
3. Group discussion and seminars group discussion sessions of the present students were arranged and seminars sessions of past students are arranged on every saturday on different topics mock interviews conducted by past students for the current batch to face active participants in organising “Kartikey Rindani Programming Contest”.

Scholarship

The college has provided concession in fee to poor and deserving students. Such concessions are granted only to those students who have passed in all the courses they had offered at the previous examination. Concession in fees is normally granted for the entire academic year.

Hostels

The Institute has magnificently designed separate hostels for boys and girls each with all modern facilities for boarding and other recreational activities. The hostel buildings are remarkable pieces of architecture. Because of the carefully designed structure the temperature inside the buildings remains comfortable even in extremely hot conditions. Twenty-four hours security assured.

Hostel committee, a student body, manages the hostel.
