National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU) is a central university established in 2008 and situated in Gandhinagar, Gujarat. It was earlier known as Gujarat Forensic Sciences University (GFSU). The University has been approved by UGC and accredited with grade A by NAAC. Three different institutions under the university offer various courses in the discipline of forensics and sciences. The institution provides PG degree and certification courses in the relevant field. Selection of students across different classes will be based on merit and entrance, followed by an interview based on the chosen course.

Eligibility: The candidate has to qualify CLAT exam, and admission is based on a merit list of CLAT Scores of the admission year and Passed the Intermediate/Higher Secondary Board Exam (10+2) in Science Stream or Commerce/Arts Stream with Mathematics Statistics subject with 50% marks or equivalent (45% or equivalent marks for SC/ST and PWD category)

Admission shall be undertaken is based on a merit list drawn out Bachelor's Percentage obtained by candidates in their respective graduation courses.

NFSU Admission

The university offers various PG degree and certificate courses online, which are provided by the Institute of Forensic Sciences. The regular courses are offered by two other institutes, like the Institute of Behavioural Sciences and the Institute of Research and Development.

  • For the M.Sc. program, students get admission based on marks they have secured in the competitive entrance exam conducted by the University, which is similar to other courses.
  • For M.Tech. GATE qualifying is needed. Likewise, for all courses, there will be different selection modes like merit-based and entrance-base,d followed by an interview as applicable.
  • The Applications for various courses could be submitted both online as well as in offline mode.

The University has a Training and Placement Cell that aids students in building up their skills and extra knowledge required for getting jobs in various reputed and well-established companies that visit the University annually for recruitment purposes.

The University has associations with companies or organisations such as Orchid Research Laboratories Ltd, Synchron Research Services Pt. Ltd., and reputed Indian Companies such as Finisar Chemicals and Claris Pharmaceuticals Ltd. Students also get placement opportunities by Forensic Labs such as Goa, CMC India Pt-Ltd, ICICI Lombard, etc. towards the placement activities conducted every year.

The institution provides all kinds of infrastructure and facilities that can benefit students. The facilities are:

  • Hostel- Hostel facilities can be availed by both boys and girls. Hostel rooms are quite comfortable and can accommodate 3-4 students in a single room.

NFSU Scholarships

Since the institution is a government-aided university, students can benefit from various scholarships the University offers yearly.

There are scholarships for students from weaker sections of society with a lower annual family income. Scholarships are also offered to students who are academically excellent and secured the highest score in the entrance exam held by the university and candidates who maintain the top percentage in the semester exams as well. Students can apply for scholarships during the admission process itself.
