Prof. MRD Scholarships are awarded to the top 5% of students based on Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) or Semester Grade Point Average (SGPA). They are awarded a merit certificate and a refund of 50% of the tuition fee. It is a competitive scholarship that identifies and rewards the best academically performing students at PESU. Note that this award cannot be awarded to final-year students.
Prof. CNR Rao Scholarship is conferred on 20% of students based on SGPA. Merit certificates and reimbursement of 40% of the tuition fee are awarded to the award recipients. It recognises students having a consistent pattern of academic achievements, financially subsidises them. Like the MRD scholarship, it is not conferred on students in the final year.
Students with an SGPA of 7.75 or better are eligible for Distinction Awards. Distinction Awards are preceded by a certificate of merit and, in some cases, a monetary award. Distinction Awards appreciate and recognise persistent academic excellence among students in all the qualifying years.
In addition to corporate sponsors, PES University provides DevOn Corporate Scholarships to deserving final-year students of high merit. These scholarships of any value and advantage are intended to aid students making the transition from the academic to the professional world. Other benefits, like internships or job offers, usually accompany them.
Students with a zeal for teaching and demonstration skills may apply for Teaching Assistantship positions. These jobs are compensated and give essential hands-on experience for students to assist faculty members in teaching and other academic activities.
PESU urges students who are passionate about research to take up Research Assistantships. These positions are paid and allow students to closely cooperate with faculty on meaningful research projects, nurturing a strong research culture within the university.
Through its Rural Scholarship, PES University sponsors eligible candidates, thus providing free engineering education, encouraging inclusivity, and lifting students from a rural background. The initiative further connects the urban-rural divide in education.
Full-time research scholars at PESU are provided monthly fellowships of 27,000 and increased every year up to 50,000 for exceptionally deserving candidates, which is intended to support fellow doctoral researchers throughout their entire research work.
Prof. MRD Scholarships are conferred upon the top 5% of students based on CGPA/SGPA, while Prof. CNR Rao Scholarships are awarded to those in the next 20% by SGPA. Both are for students who are not in the final year.
PESU has a provision for granting Rural Scholarships to select students from rural backgrounds for free engineering education.
Most merit-based scholarships are not available to final-year students, but corporate scholarships may be one of those exceptions.
A merit certificate (and, at times, a cash prize) is awarded to any student obtaining an SGPA of 7.75 and above.
Merit-based scholarships are conferred automatically upon high results. One might have to apply for an assistantship or corporate scholarship.
Postgraduate students could have merit-based scholarships, and full-time Ph.D. scholars qualify for monthly fellowships.
Students may apply for teaching or research assistantships, subject to their skill sets and faculty recommendation.
